Deciding who to play, pitch etc. Doesn’t seem to be many weaknesses/dropoffs with any of the guys

The real question is which does the rant get into arguments about their playing time like Kling.

Really the only unknown at this point is at catcher. Roll with the vet or let the kid get experience? Other than that it’s a matter of stacking the lineup the right way which if anyone had any doubts, should include Larson at DH going forward.

Maybe flip Shores and Eyanson as we get closer to sec play. But this team is stacked.

This take is obviously based on very little evidence and could be completely wrong but after 1 weekend, I think Schmidt eventually replaces Eyanson as a weekend starter.

It’s not challenging when they are all good

There’s a lot of baseball left to play, but based on today I too think he will.

I think he had a 2-5 game against Missouri this weekend.

That’s just not going to be the case as the year progresses and the competition gets better.

I’ve seen JJ take the staff to the last weekend when he’s trying to find/develop enough guys to have a chance in postseason.

I won’t be upset if it takes a while to separate the premium pitchers we have from those who aren’t quite there.

I don’t think it’s crazy to think that. It’s pretty apparent imo why he was going to be a high draft pick. If he performs good enough to get a weekend gig then we are going to win a lot of series this year. Just too much pitching.

If Kling has had a good weekend, then I think that speaks well as to LSU's
odds of a possible sweep against Mizzou.

Well, I mean I haven’t watched their games, but they lost 2 of 3 this weekend

Yes he does
But after what he went through last season with not much depth and holes in the lineup he wasn’t doing that again

Hopefully the freshman stick around to be the future of next years team

Nuff said. In CJJ I trust, not Ol Burt.

They played three different teams. Kling batted leadoff all three games. JJ thought he was good enough to try him there as well.

its baseball, % and stats after 10 games will dictate a lot of the decisions.

So far it appears that Coach J has more options should a pitcher 'not have it that day', such that he can make that determination quicker rather than having to get as many innings out of the pitcher that day as possible to 'save the pen'. Just got get him when he doesn't 'have it that day' and replace him with equal talent. this would seem like a real benefit compare to last year's team/pitching depth.

My predicted weekend starting rotation mid April (Tax Day- Skip’s declared day when you have your team set for the stretch tournament run).
Friday - Shores
Saturday - Anderson
Sunday - Schmidt

Sorry but Anderson is your Friday guy. He's a top 5 arm in the country
