I have the dewalt and it works great (about $150 without the battery).

Would like to buy an air compressor for all 5 of my family members to keep in the car, but would like something less expensive. Any recommendations?

There’s a cheap one that plugs into the cigarette lighter.

I have the rechargeable Slime one from AutoZone. Will fill a stock 2500 tire to 65 psi on a charge- plus you can power it from the 12V adapter

Viair 85 or 88 wouldn’t be bad.

I have one and it only works some of the time. Would not recommend.

Yes, but many of those don't work well/put out much air. The dewalt also has a cord to plug in the cigarette lighter.

They work just fine.

Not as convenient as a battery powered, but a whole lot cheaper.

We have one of the Stanley Fatmax units and it works great. Set the air pressure and it turns off when done.

Good video, I'll look into the Bauer, I like that is can be powered by a cigarette lighter.

HF also has 15% off any single item for Presidents’ Day.

Viair 88

About $90 + tax

Strongly advise to get one that hooks up directly to vehicle battery.

Pro tip: The Viair 88 fits perfectly into a metal ammo can from HF.

I have the same Dewalt for my wife's and my vehicle. We have may other Dewalt battery tools so it just made sense to get these. Much faster inflating than the previous cigarette lighter plug inflators we have used in the past.

It's a great buy, but make sure you have a spare tire repair kit in each car as well or it could be rendered useless. My wife has a talent for finding nails with the tires. One time i had put a brand new set up pirelli scorpions on her suv and new years, eve in the rain, i found out there was a nail in the sidewall. Was livid.

Just remember that the item spends more time waiting to be needed than it does being used, therefore the battery will in all likelyhood be dead when someone most needs it. Plan on using one powered from the vehicle battery as it will be there when it is needed.

Costco sells one in the $50 range that's a cordless one that I grabbed a year or so ago and has enough juice to inflate a few tires at a time. Just gotta make sure they charge it every few months to keep a charge. Also can be used as a powerbank, has a light on it, etc..
