based on what? Judge had more HR, RBI, and a higher OBP, SLG, OPS, OPS+, and WAR.

Witt has Judge by 10 points on BA, and 20 steals, but that's about it. Judge has a lower defensive WAR but he plays out of position.

is witt being overrated here? idk. the archetype is everything you want and he obviously just put together an MVP level of season but does he not have to put together one more elite year before we start putting him over people like juan soto and mookie betts?

also, freddie might be more of a reputation thing than anything, its possible those 7 WAR seasons he put up in first two years in LA are past him and hes going to deal with injuries going forward plus age

The floor for Witt putting up 6-7 WAR so easy especially now that he appears to be a plus defender at short. Even if his plate discipline improvements weren’t all real look at what he did in 2023, which was still a great (maybe not elite) year. The floor for Soto looks like 2022, and he’s probably not far from being a full time DH (or at least contributing that level of defense if they leave him out there).

I’m nitpicking because Soto is incredible but I am very high on Witt

It’s also a bit of a meme to call JRam underrated at this point but putting him 9th feels rough. He should be over Yordan for sure IMO as an Astros fan. I think you can argue him 5th on here. He will regress at some point but I don’t think people realize he was a HR away from going 40/40 last year

Judge wouldn’t crack this list if he didn’t play for the Yankees and also the smallest park for HR hitters in baseball

definitely very high on witt as well. just was kinda surprising to see him already above soto and betts who i probabky would have put at 3 and 4. but yea the defensive floor at the most premium defensive position is so great

He contributes value in so many ways. That extension is going to look incredible as it ages

He’s probably the most underrated player in the league over the last 5 years or so. Playing in Cleveland has always been a stigma, but the modern day Guardians are nowhere close to the 90’s Indians in terms of popularity and star power, yet they’re still a pretty good team. I don’t like the offseason moves though.

Watching Bobby Witt Jr. play baseball is a hell of a good time.

I’m pretty sure Bobby was ranked #4 in their list of shortstops

I won’t argue this. Witt is a complete player.

Freddie Freeman is not a top ten "Right Now". Seems his spot could easily go to Kyle Tucker.

Witt is more athletic, faster, SS is much more difficult to play than OF, he's more valuable to his team (if the Yankees didn't have Judge they would just buy someone else).

What are the strikeout numbers? I would have to think judge is way ahead.

If I were starting a team I'd easily take Witt over Judge.
