Looking at a 4 day trip in NY. Anyone stay at a nice Hilton in Manhattan?

Hilton Midtown on 6th Avenue. Easy walking to Times Square or the other way to Central Park

Thanks. Are rooms small?

Stay at the midtown location. Not Times Square.

Compared to others, yes. Typical New York rooms. We had room to walk around without bumping into each other.

I used to stay at the Conrad around the corner because we had a teenager and the lay out of the rooms was better for us. We stayed there multiple times and overall I like that area as a home base quite a bit.

I will occasionally stay in the financial district if there for work. There is a Hilton garden inn and a Hampton inn a couple of blocks off of stone street that often have pretty good rates. Convenient to SoL, Staten Island ferry, and Brooklyn bridge. I like the Dead Rabbit and Fraunces near there as well.

Hilton Midtown is very nice. If you can swing it, the Conrad in Battery Park is amazing. Hilton Garden in Times Square was good, along with Hampton (which I normally hate) near Wall Street.

How many people -- just you / you and wife?
Much more interesting places if going as a couple.

We stayed at the Hilton Millennium a couple of years ago and loved it. It was in Lower Manhattan near the World Trade Center. It wasn’t in the middle of everything but did provide a quieter option that we thoroughly enjoyed.

I stayed at the Hilton Garden on 54th a couple of years ago and liked it. About 10 minutes from Times Square but far enough so you can stay away if you’d like. Close to 3 subway stations (times sq hub, Columbus circle hub and a small station- R & W lines I think) and Central Park. Right next door is Empire steak house which was outstanding. Only negative was not every floor had ice.

Rooms are standard Hilton / Hampton Inn size. Nothing fancy and not tiny. Like others have said, it's a good location.

Not Times Square.
Times square "adjacent" may not be bad, but there is no way on Earth I'd book a room on Times Square. But be aware, just because a hotel labels itself "Times Square" doesn't mean it's actually in Times Square. The W "Times Square" I stayed at a bit was actually five blocks away, which was enough separation.

Highly recommend Hilton Midtown. Not a super crowded area but close to two subway stations, walkable to time Times Sq, Rockefeller Ctr, Central Park,

Why is that? I’m choosing between these two for my wife and daughter in a couple months. I was leaning TS

Depends on what you are looking for. The Hilton in TS is busy, noisy, small rooms. Right in the middle of TS
The Midtown Hilton is an Icon. Quieter location, bigger rooms. Quicker access to Central Park

I have family that lives in East Village, West Village, and Williamsburg. We usually stay at Motto by Hilton in Chelsea because we like having our own space. Though we rarely go into Midtown, it's an easy walk from there. Plus, F and M trains are less than a block walking + East and West Village are walking distance. Like most New York hotels, space will always be an issue but you shouldn't need anything too bulky for June. Hotel has a very nice lobby bar / restaurant, though, and a dedicated barista for the morning or afternoon pick-me-up.

Stayed at the Hilton Mid Town last summer with wife and daughter and really enjoyed it. Easy walk to times square, central park and close to subway stations. They also have an executive lounge which is nice.
Have also stayed at HIltonTS and it was nice, but smaller rooms and we definitely preferred being a little "off" of times square.
We did the summit at one vanderbilt and it was cooler than expected...

I posted earlier about Hilton properties in Financial District/Battery Park area, and your post reminded me there is a pretty decent Hilton Garden Inn in Tribeca which is an awesome neighborhood for food and drink, and on the same block as the Canal Street ACE and 2 blocks from the Canal Street NQRW.
Also 1 or 2 blocks from the Ghostbusters Fire Station.

Request a room on an upper floor if you don't want to listen to sirens all night.
