It’s too bad, but not surprising, that they’re going after the CFPB. Much of my practice dealt with consumer finance issues. That agency did a lot of good work to prevent predatory practices that most of this board would condemn if posters were aware of it.

So there will be no fund to mitigate the effects of fraud against consumers? That’s a great idea. When they steal from us, we should have no hope of recovery. Why didn’t we do this years ago?

Call me crazy but shouldn’t the businesses committing the fraud be the ones to pay back the consumers they wronged? Imagine the level of smuggery required to rob tax payers to protect businesses committing fraud.
