Are “thirsty” movies making a comeback

I was just randomly thinking, we got a lot of movies that had sex at its front and center in 2024. This seems to be a big change from the prior few years where celibate Gen Zers were vocally against sex in movies.
Do we think there will be more horny movies back in mainstream film?

Weed is getting too strong these days

Downvoted strictly because of the use of "thirsty".
BUT, as a child of the 80's I can say it was a good damn guarantee that if the movie was rated PG and was a teen comedy, you were gonna see titties. And it was glorious.
Kids today have all they can get of nudity online so I guess it's a lost argument, but back in the day... MAN.
Just a short walk down memory lane:
Zapped - Heather Thomas (even though later it was revealed she used a body double)
Airplane - random turbulence titties!
Private School - The gorgeous Betsy Russel on horseback!
Risky Business - Rebecca DeMornay "are you ready for me, Ralph?"
Valley Girl - The pint sized pair from E.G. Daily!
And the gold standard....
Fast Times at Ridgemont High - Phoebe Cates She Moves in Stereo
Those were glory days fellas.

Until another big wave of girls get famous showing their tits like khakeesi on GoT, only to turn around in 5 years and say they don't want to be objectified.

Robert Eggers seems to low key do it in almost all his movies. Nosferartu most recently had vampire making the main character’s ginie tingle as a core point of the movie.
We just need another book series that lets women feel empowered about being horn dogs to be made into movies again

The internet unfortunately made sex in movies not "necessary" anymore.
Sex and nudity in films used to be highly in demand because that's how a large portion of America sorta got their thrills, in an acceptable way.
The novelty of having boobs in your movies as a draw went way down as the internet made that trivially easy.
There's still some the demand out there but it's not strong enough to overcome all the headaches that comes along with including it for filmmakers.
The entire movie industry is sorta trying to figure out what the future looks like in general. Lotta genres are "dead" for now.

The younger generation would rather be porn addicts than actually having real sex. This carries over to it no longer being a big deal to show a nipple in a movie.

I think it's made the tease more valuable, because it's not as easy. Ali Larter's boob in Landman is a recent example. When you couldn't quite see it, I was completely paying attention. When you actually got to see it, the thrill was gone. This "near miss" was a mainstay of Police Academy, etc., up until about American Pie.

Don't forget Joyce Hyser in Just one of the guys.

Almost everything you listed was R. There were only a couple of PG with Tits. Never understand how Sixteen Candles got a PG and Airplane, both 100% gratuitous titties. lol. Also remember PG tits in Tribute.
There were others but the gratuitous sex comedies of the 80s were almost all rated R. Even some of them with absolutely no tits. Not sure how they even got a R rating.

That one used the new PG-13 rating.

Most of those movies came out before the PG-13 rating came about.
Back then you could have some titties and even a few swear words and still get a PG rating.
Once PG-13 came about, the line between it and R got a little better defined.

I reiterate. The movies listed were almost all R. Not PG other than the two I mentioned. This post was about thirst movies and 99% of those in the 80s were R. The post stating the the 80s movies were PG was pure nonsense. The list was wrong. Sex comedies were R. In some cases even without nudity. The PG movies with tits were just non sex related gratuitous shots thus they got PG because it had nothing to do with sex.

The erotic thriller is making somewhat of a comeback albeit with the 'current year' spin on things.
