Jalen Carter
Cooper Dejean
Brian Robinson
Sam Howell

These were the players picked using what we gave up in the Olave trade to get the first from Philly and then move up with the Redskins.

Want to know why this team has no depth. Look no further than this trade Loomis made. It’s why he should be gone yesterday.

Why are you complaining? This trade obviously worked out great for us.

Did it though? Olave seems to be made of glass.

Saints basically being a farm franchise to Philly is why they won a Super Bowl and we suck balls. Not to mention the fact we have the worst cap space in the league.

Its rare that you can point to a single move that gave a team a Super Bowl but this would be it

Such a dumb move for an above average receiver.

Loomis has gone on record stating he does what his head coach wants. Not defending him by any stretch but Payton fell in love with players every single year and we paid dearly for it.

When he is healthy, which is about half the time.

This trade is a perfect example of good front office v bad front office.

And you haven't even mentioned the CJGJ trade, or letting them have Baun for nothing

Anyone who gets targeted twice in two games played--without the targeting being called, no less--would be "made of glass."

CJGJ trade

We were not re-signing him to the deal he wanted, he became vocal in the locker room & practice field, so we traded him & at least got something in return versus letting him walk for nothing. Zero to complain about here.

letting them have Baun for nothing

Baun walked in free agency, his choice. Mickey does not design the defense or call the plays, so nothing he can realistically do here. Signing Baun to a 2nd contract much richer than his rookie deal would have been a dumb move based on how the coaches were playing him. Baun only signed a 1yr deal in Philly so he will be a free agent, perhaps with a new DC that would properly use him we could lure him back.

That said, Mickey Loomis definitely needs to be fired or move to a different role for a multitude of reasons, but these 2 are not one of them. The Olave trades on the other hand are fireable offenses

I get laughed at every time, but Loomis trades away picks because we don't have the money to pay rookies and Vets. Someone broke down the pay on the Saints and something close to 70% is tied up in players older than 30.

We forgo depth and talent for an older roster that consumes most of our salary cap. We trade the picks because you can't rework rookie contracts.

This is why good teams trade back.

And we never do.

but Loomis trades

Dont lay all this trash on Loomis, SP and his "draft method" fricked us out of so many pics. See Marcus Davenport.

Sp was "smarter" than everyone else. Taking the best player possible at a position of need was below his skillset.

I can't see Carter's name without puking. Should be in fricking prison.

No guarantees who Loomis would have drafted in those spots, and no guarantees DA would have played them in the correct positions.

Either way, still a shite trade; just pointing out additional frustrations with the teams picks, talent evals, and coaching evals

You assume the saints would have drafted those guys at those spots, which is highly unlikely.

The Eagles have been fleecing the NFL Draft for the past 3 years. It was evidence Sunday when they had the superior team at almost all position groups. While other NFL GMs overthink on prospects, the Eagles take the player that has fallen way farther than they should have and it’s paying off.
