2000 Miami was better than 2002 Miami and would possibly beat everybody on that list

11 LSU was loaded with talent, Les was just so stubborn and didn’t change game plan for Natty and cost Tigers another chip

83 Nebraska. They were proclaimed the GOAT all season long until Osborne chose to go for the win.

11 LSU has the best resume ever of a non champ. It’s not even close.

Probably the right answer.
It’s their ‘01 team plus Reggie Wayne and Santana Moss (more or less). Lost a close road game to an 11-1 Washington team, beat 11-1 VT and beat FSU that just edged them out to play for the natty.

‘92 FSU probably deserves mention as well.

2018 Bama was really good.

86 Miami?
I remember thinking it would take a miracle for Penn State to beat them.
Heisman winner, team full of future All-Pros, basically Jimmy Johnson's Cowboys in College.
Miami turned the ball over 7 times AND still had a chance to win the Championship with a 1st and goal at the Penn State 10 yard line with 45 seconds left.
Miami out gained Penn State 445 yards to 162....and still lost by 4 points. Jimmy Johnson has said its the toughest loss he ever took.

Any other answer besides 05 USC, 83 Nebraska and 86 Miami is wrong

2016 Bama had one of the best defenses of the last 25 years. They were just gassed at the end of the national championship game against Clemson.
