Just watched this again for the first time in years.
I feel like it holds up. It's not perfect, but I have it placed high in my personal horror flick rankings, though I'm admittedly not a savant.
Sam Neill showed solid range here. His conveyance of Evil is top notch, IMO.

Fun fact, this is unofficially a Warhammer 40k movie. The screen writer has admitted The Warp was a basis of what this ship is doing.

First watch, I was in college and knew nothing about the movie. Was scared shitless for a while. Some of those images at that age stick with you.

Sucks that all the deleted footage was lost. I believe the original version of the movie was way more fricked up

apparently the lost footage is a much longer sequence from the trip to hell by the original crew of the ship. What we see is pretty disturbing I’m not sure I need any more of that.
the story I read is that they had to use porn actors for much of it because it was so graphic, whether that’s true or not I don’t know. But it was pretty fricked up footage

I watched it on TV by myself late one night. It scared me worse than anything I'd seen in years.

Lol. I only remember apologizing to my friends for picking this movie walking out because it was kinda dumb. Guess I should watch it again.
