I’m pumped about this one. Didn’t realize it was gonna hit Apple. I thought it was going to theaters.
I’ll definitely be watching it next weekend then.

I watched it last night. I was pretty excited for it, even though it got bad reviews - it's got Anya Taylor-Joy, Trent Reznor did the soundtrack, the guy who made Doctor Strange directed it. But man, it was not good. Think a bad cross between Lost and the Last of Us. And it also looks like dogshit, like most movies nowadays. Go in with low expectations.
This kinda goes to show what bad shape the movie industry is in. Fifteen or 20 years ago, there would have been a bit of hype - like Miles Teller or Anya Taylor-Joy would have hosted Saturday Night Live around the time it was released, they would have gone on MTV to promote it, there would have been a big ad campaign. Now, it gets dumped on streaming.

It wasn’t bad. I’ve wasted 2 hours in worse ways

Well I just watched this with the wife and that sucked. I even rewatched the trailer because I did not think this would be a shitty CGI fest, and the trailer really didn't reveal that. And the CGI was terrible.
I thought the first portion was setting up a Three Colors: Blue meditation on isolation and our need for companionship in more of a sci fi setting (the trailer even made it seem that way focusing on the blue plants at one point) with more energy, but boy was I wrong.
The plot was nonsensical and filled with plot holes and irrational actions by characters. The theme and tone were all over the place.
Also, ATJ looked anorexic and terrible (for her).
***Spoilers***
Even with all of the bad CGI and utterly retarded plot, there was a chance for the ending to have some redemption by having them separated not knowing if the other survived and one/both possibly being infected. Again, they could have said a lot about isolation and our need for human connections, with trauma creating both levels of existence...but no, we just got a random happy ending.

I enjoyed it since I got the flu and am laid up anyway. Had I paid to see it at the theatre I may have been disappointed. A bit of a Marvelesque twist in the gorge I wasn’t expecting.

Thank God for that….no one wants to see a GoT ending. People want to see justice prevail…

It’s not winning best picture or anything but I enjoyed it

It wasn't terrible but I had hoped it would be much better than it was. Once they went into the gorge the movie went down hill.

Half hour in. He just saw ol crazy eyes manning her tower and sawing wood
I was in until the guy implied he has to kill monsters in the gorge. Then I was like
I will stick with it

Correct...I was with it until that point. The first 30 minutes was a completely different vibe from the remainder of the film. I particularly liked the first battle with 'The Hollow Men"...but like you said, everything went off the rails when they went into the gorge.
