Other than that absolute pillock the pirate queen, how could anyone disagree?

Don’t forget mcpuffs. The score was within single digits at halftime last night, so technically lsu “competed” at some point

nice shot fired at woody. let's see if he fires him and admits his screw up.

Not really. Completely against their norm they threw in some 3’s. That kept it close. As they reverted to normal shooting it got out of hand.

This is a sad state of affairs after they got my hopes up in non-conference play

Ambivalence described the administration perfectly on this situation

Am I wrong in remembering that Hanny was pro getting rid of Will Wade?

Even the tosser refs don’t give a McDamn.

I remember when I used to care enough to follow LSU basketball. Scotty Woodward will be happy to know that not only have I not attended a game in person this season, but I don't even watch them when they are on tv.

I think he was in the same camp as I was, that the administration had no choice because of the tie-in to football in the NOA. But my memory sucks, so who knows.
I think McMahon looked like a decent hire at the time, but it turns out this stage is too big for him. That is the risk you take hiring a lower-level conference coach, however successful he is at that level. I think the biggest issue is the contract, and I think that was also driven by the potential of sanctions. Hindsight tells us it was a mistake, but at the time, it probably looked like what was needed.

the main issue IMHO is we can't get open looks, even our three's are contested. We managed to run enough of a semblance of an offense to get a few open looks early last night, very rare occurrence this year, then Georgia adjusted and we had no answer to the adjustment.

Dang Charlie, telling it like it is.

Nah, Charlie really liked Wade. He understood the firing but wasn’t rooting for it.

Without Reed there is no real inside threat so the defenses can concentrate on Carter and Sears. With Vyctorious that was a little more difficult to shut down three outside threats. With both players out its tough to run an offense.

Reed averaged 11 points a game.
Not saying he wouldn’t have helped, but he isn’t the savior that a few people have mentioned.

That's not an unimportant voice saying what we all know has been the case.
The bottom line is this:
Is Woodward willing to pull the plug now when he knows that if he doesn't he's just going to be doing it next year?
Can the people making the basketball decisions convince themselves the futility is due to ANYTHING else but McMahon. Injuries, the players, the SEC just being too hard, Will Wade, etc.? We have a dwindling few dreamers who still think that is the case on this board. Hopefully, that's not the mindset of who LSU has making the decisions

This would have likely increased to about 15 PPG in SEC play as he only averaged 23 minutes during pre- conference as they were giving more playing time to others. Those 12 to 15 points could have been the difference in losses to SMU, Vandy, Ole Miss, BAMA, A&M and Auburn and would have created better shooting opportunities for the outside shooters. Its not a given they would have won all six games but even splitting them puts a whole different perspective on the season. Instead of 2-7 they might have 3 to 4 league wins and be squarely on the bubble.

There is no reason for most players to want to come to LSU under the current coach other than likely diminishing NIL dollars (who is throwing good money at this coach), some LSU or state relationships, or perhaps playing time on a bad roster.
It doesn't look like McMahon has much time left, but there is no telling how long Woodward will stick with his sunk cost and buyout dollars owed to McMahon.
The right coach can turn this mess of a program around in a year or two.
