Will they be impacted by the following?
From the NY Post....
The new owners of radio giant Clear Channel Communications will next week begin implementing a massive restructuring plan that seeks to cut $400 million in costs at the company, The Post has learned.
According to three sources with knowledge of the plan, the restructuring will include layoffs across the company's radio, outdoor advertising and international divisions as well as cuts to programming budgets and consolidation of back-office operations.
A precise headcount for the layoffs could not be obtained. Clear Channel has about 30,000 employees worldwide.
The company is also likely to move toward a "national programming" model that would require less local-level staffing, despite being criticized in the past for a similar action using centralized disc jockeys that made it appear as though they were broadcasting from local stations.
Sources said an initial round of layoffs is expected to commence next Tuesday - not coincidentally the same day President-elect Barack Obama is to be sworn into office. Clear Channel managers are hoping they can slip in the layoffs while the press is preoccupied with Inauguration Day festivities, sources said.
A Clear Channel spokeswoman declined to comment.

It very well could. Buddy, Jimmy, Jordy are untouchable b/c of the fact they are puting 2500-3000 into the station each month. The only people who are employed by the station are Me, Matt and Richard.

TFR's days are numbered.

Was that article news to you?

Maybe now you'll only be able to hear it 10 miles outside of Baton Rouge instead of the 20 miles you can now.

Nope. Been hearing about it for a long time now.

This would never happen to Westwood One.

I've heard this said before, so just out of curiosity, if Buddy is putting that kind of cash into the station each month, what else does he do? I know Jordy has other jobs, so I understand how he makes a living, but I've never seen Buddy do anything but the radio show.

Buddy sells his program and makes enough money to pay his bill with station and live comfortably.

The score is only making about $35-35k/year from Buddy's Noon-3PM slot? If so this is peanuts and I don't see how they are profitable.
Or do they get to hold back some of the ad time to sell themselves?

I really don't know but I'm always curious what else these guys do. Seems like they're always dabbling in something.

Bottom Line: Songy Pays 2500-3000 a month. If he sells 20 sponsors for 500 bucks a month then he's making a pretty comfortble living. Throw in the fact that he probably has some trade with some of his sponsors ( free golf, free meals etc) he is ok.
The station gets a few minutes of ad time per hour during the contracted shows.

Then throw in the fact that Real Deal Coaches Show, Jaguar Journal, Jon Fine Sports and Tulane Sports all pay for air time on the station

So you are saying Buddy makes 80k to know nothing but the lsu football depth chart and hit on women half his age? that doesn't seem right.
I enjoyed Condon's flip out on today's show when someone asked if we could get ott to take his place so we could have sports talk from 4-6

That was an estimate. I know that Buddy is well off. If you can sell yourself in Baton Rouge you can make a lot of money.

it caused him to go off on how no one listens to sports talk and he had the numbers to prove it and he was so good that the score pays him instead him paying them.
