Anyone expecting a pullback in $AMZN similar to $MSFT and $GOOGL?

Capex is going to be huge, so I assume they will get the same treatment if AWS revenue misses due to 'capacity constraints' like the other two.

If price pumps until close I would have to expect a rug pull based on what happened with AMD and UBER.

are we just using "rug pull" now to mean any decline in price and no longer just referring to abandoning a project and taking all the liquidity/money with you?

Well that's kind of what the market makers are doing when they take people's money. It happens.

Yeah not sure why the use of the term rug pull. That is a very specific crypto business model, not really replicated

AMZN business is AWS, they are destroying their actual low margin shopping business.

Call it what you want. I'm talking about market makers not allowing certainly options to expire worthless or making sure that certain options expire worthless.

They can allow the price to run when they want to and they can keep it down when they want to. The let it run on AMD yesterday afternoon and then pulled the rug out after the initial pop after hours.

Closed at 119, popped to 124, and then it closed around 108. What is that if not a rug pull?

Normal market reactions to earnings as data is presented to shareholders.

Unlike a rug pull in crypto where the creators purposefully abandon the crypto security after there is enough exit liquidity to make it worth it. After that the whole thing goes away and dies a slow death

I expect a modest beat and sharp decline, seems to be the pattern this cycle. It’ll bounce quickly and return to new highs though.

Would like a nice dip on AMZN. Would love to add a few more shares. I WFH and out my office window i can see the street. Amazon Trucks all day in my neighborhood including my house. I expect a steady climb on this one.

i base amazon stock off how much our household uses it. It continues to grow and i use less from the competition.

I had a garden house delivered in less than 12hrs! i bought more today.

amazon beats analyst expectations and drops from ~238 to ~230 AH

forward guidance net sales are lower than expected, analysts expected 158B:

quote:

Net sales are expected to be between $151.0 billion and $155.5 billion, or to grow between 5% and 9% compared with first quarter 2024. This guidance anticipates an unusually large, unfavorable impact of approximately $2.1 billion, or 150 basis points, from foreign exchange rates. Also, as a reminder, in first quarter 2024 the impact from Leap Year added approximately $1.5 billion in net sales.

moved back to ~235 as i typed this up.

Had a great earnings report but guidance was lower than expected. Down over 4% after hours, ouch.

My favorite stock and I still expect it to do well this year.

AWS is the business that's what you should be focused on. Growth as slowed, going to have an impact on stock and multiple moving forward

I'd like to get back a position in Amazon. Love to catch a price dip like a couple quarters back
