newly minted #1 QB for 2027, #2 overall on Rivals

quote:

Gorney's Take: Elijah Haven has everything top college coaches and NFL decision-makers look for in a quarterback from intelligence to accuracy to arm strength to decision-making and beyond. In many ways, Haven has some uncanny similarities to former five-star quarterback Jameis Winston but Haven might be even a little more athletic.

His stats might be a little muted – he threw for 1,847 yards with 27 touchdowns and ran for 429 yards and 12 more scores – but the Baton Rouge (La.) Dunham standout only threw 191 passes all season. Dunham had more rushing attempts than throws even with an elite talent like Haven leading the way.

LSU definitely leads in his recruitment

I watched him in the state title game. He has the talent and no talent around him, no protection from his line and the kid still shined. He will be a great one

This kid HAVEN is Imperative to LSU as a future recruit can be. He like BU will be a game changer. It’s important for the Future of Our Football Program as it is to CBKs career. I may sound dramatic but imho this guy is HIM. Great IQ, size, athletic, and above all a super character humbled young man with a good head on his shoulders. He is a Louisiana native and is a MUST signee. I believe he has all the intangibles to make an elite football player at LSU.

They should be. He's 10 minutes from campus and Dunham should be very friendly to LSU.

Is there any possibility that Haven could reclassify to 2026? (I hope he doesn't)

Remember Dylan Moses.

He is awesome.
He is great.

He didn’t come to LSU, he’s overrated.

Absolutely none of that matters anymore until NIL checks start coming in.

and a moronic coaching staff. 80% of the plays were QB draw and after the first couple series, the defense knew it was coming.

You are correct. They did nothing to help him against a team that had zero D1 offers but much better coached

Despite the loss, kid played one hell of a game. Looked like he was barely moving and out ran some solid athletes from the Catholic team. Dudes were basically just bouncing off of him.

Made some really nice throws too. The last play of the game was honestly just another freak athlete making a damn good play with Eugene picking him off.

Gotta use Dominick McKinley if you want the full gamut. He was great while uncommitted, terrible and lazy, chasing a bag while committed to TAM, then became great and once again a child of God who we got at a discounted rate when he flipped. The amount of gymnastics some put themselves through mentally really is impressive. Nevermind the hypocrisy.
