This would have been around 1999. It was where Red Stick Sports is now in that shopping center by the railroad tracks.

I thought it was good. They had that big wall of TV that was high tech for the time.

I’m assuming it was the first sports bar like this in the BR area.
I went to the grand opening celebration. Jimmy Ott and the other radio guys were doing their shows from there and it was a big deal.
Sure as hell didn’t seem like it lasted all that long.

How bout Lyman Whites chicken wing place on Lee Dr ?
Went a few times, he was an arse hole, and food/service was shite.
One time when me and my buds went, we ordered, and were standing around the counter waiting, for our order.
Lyman, says, yall go sit down man, this aint no fast food joint ! We laughed.....
He was in way over his head...........

I remember going around when it first opened. I don't recall eating anything. Just having a drink.
That place must have not lasted too long.

Jason’s or J. Scott’s, had to name change to J Scott’s because of a cease and desist from Jason’s Deli.

He was always cool to me.
First place I ever had Buffalo Wings. Place was actually legit food-wise, I thought. Seemed to have a few logistical issues, though.

All I remember about it was that there was a girl who worked there who was one of the best-looking women I've ever seen in my life

I remember the wall, it looked like 30 19” TV’s. We thought the food was good.

I remember the guy telling us that when we ate there. What bullshite though. They established their place first but then Jason's deli came to town and they were forced to change their name. Said they could have fought but would have cost them more money than they had to spend so they just knuckled under. What really sucks is that the name was personal - his sons name was Jason.

I thought Jason’s Deli was from Beaumont?
Posted on 2/5/25 at 11:39 am to Paul Allen
I have never been to his restaurant but I remember him very well from the late 1960s. He was a great linebacker for the Tigers.

Same voice on radio commercials that did recruitment ads for Gretna PD and Lamarque Ford back then.

I really liked the place, was first date spot with my wife, was one of the first non smoking restaurants in BR, can you believe we used to have smoking and non smoking sections????
