How many missed checks are you….

…away from having to make some big financial changes? It always boggles my mind when people live this way, but curious the percentages out there?
Was on my run and saw the house down the street just went up for sale. I live in a nice neighborhood, 1-2 acre lots, mostly people doing well in their careers, etc. Couple has only been in the house for 2 years. Divorce? Living above their means? Hard to say. The wife drove home a brand new Suburban/Tahoe just two months ago.
Thoughts? What would your situation be with a couple missed paychecks? All I can assume.
Talk to me OT. Are you saving enough?

Why is the assumption they cant afford it? Maybe they hate the area and neighbors. Maybe someone got a promotion. Maybe they are having more kids and its too small.

People sell houses all the time. Why are you assuming they are having a divorce or financial issues?

Maybe they got a raise and are upsizing

I usually find that people like you who try so hard to convince others that they are well off are the ones living check to check. FYI, I manage foreclosures and evictions for financial institutions so I see it daily. You 100% fit what I see.
You admitted to return fraud on here and laughed it off. Only someone living beyond their means can justify that in their mind.

Maybe they are upgrading? Moving to another state due to a substantial pay raise.
Unless you know some neighborhood scuttlebutt, why do you immediately assume they were living above their means and have to emergency downsize?

Had to squeeze that in. Probably the reason for the thread.

Clearly they are moving to a bigger, nicer neighborhood.

I’m blessed, that’s all I say. But that came with hard work and savings, and wise investing.

considering who the OP is, i'd lean heavily into this option...

Probably tired of the creepy fricker running passed their house.

Well over 50% of middle to upper middle class Americans live above their means. It’s no secret.
