A good LSU team vs a big time opponent in the PMAC probably produces a more electric atmosphere than Tiger Stadium.

LSU vs UNLV or Loyola Marymount during the Dale Brown era. LSU vs Arizona during the Brady years. Will Wade taking down number 5 Tennessee, grabbing the microphone and telling the crowd to "Boot up, Baby!"...all great moments that equal or better any moment in Tiger Stadium.

Its actually close. Top PMAC is still not as good bc LSU fans dont know how to yell the whole time during possessions.

PMAC can be a fun atmosphere. Some of Will Wade's games were lit. It doesn't come close to Tiger Stadium. In my opinion Alex Box is a better atmosphere under the right conditions than the PMAC.

It’s smaller, enclosed and has great sound when loud. Different but nonetheless great.

I see where you were going with this. I don't really agree, but I'll bite.

When OU came into town with Buddy Heild vs Ben Simmons, that was as best a sporting venue experience that I've been to at LSU.

Same with LSU when Marcus Thorton was playing...very exciting atmosphere.

The Final 4 team that had all the Baton Rouge guys also had some really good atmospheres.

Teleport to watching Chris Jackson nailing 3s on multiple trips down the floor forcing the other team to take a timeout just to get the crowd to calm the f down and tell me it doesn't compare.

I wouldn't say "better". But there was a time when the PMAC was a mad house (Deaf Dome) and students would camp out on the ramps to get into the game. The people who attend the football games are many of the same people who attend (or would attend) the basketball games. They wouldn't forget how to be loud an energetic simply because they crossed the street.

Totally disagree and that’s no knock to the box. Basketball under the right conditions will always provide a better more ruckus atmosphere than baseball. The box is just consistent. If LSU got a consistent winner that had the program regularly ranked the PMAC would be electric.

The last time I think it was at its best was that 2019 Tennessee game when Tennessee was ranked 5 with Admiral Schofield and Grant Williams. Tremont Waters got sick and couldn’t play so Javonte Smart stepped up and scored 29 to win in overtime. The whole place was packed, the walkways had people standing all along the walls. It was almost unorganized chaos but in a good way.

At the end of the day it all starts with the students, if you get a coach who can get the students excited about the team the rest will follow.

With that being said nothing comes close to Tiger Stadium for a big night game.

No one cares. College basketball is a complete joke and waste of money. No decent player will stay in college, period. The sgaqs of the world are gone, for College purposes. No one cares about the school.
In my wildest hallucinating dreams, I can't fathom spending $1 on that dumpster of the pmac, or the worst team in the sec

I mean, sure. A good LSU team (what's that like) playing a tight game against a top opponent is obviously a better atmosphere than football beating the shite out of UAB with an empty stadium in the 4th quarter.

True!

Agree 100% I've said this for 40 years and nobody takes it seriously. But I grew in 80's & 90's with some good basketball teams and crappy football teams.

BUT...."under the right conditions" meaning Top 10 SEC matchup at night in TS will top them all.

That Tennessee game in 2018 is the best I’ve seen it, it was awesome but still dosent compare to TS

That was the only time it’s ever been miserable trying to leave a basketball game. It was completely packed

The Stromile Swift/Jabari Smith era John Brady team was fun as hell in the PMAC. We had to camp out to get in the place. The Auburn and Arizona games are still some of my best memories at LSU. It won't rival Tiger Stadium, but the place can be electric no doubt.

I've been to a shitton of LSU fb games in TS, and have seen some great games but the LSU-Kentucky bb game at the PMAC(Assembly Center then,) in 1978 ranks as possibly the most exciting and fun atmosphere in LSU sports history for me

Even Johnny Jones had some of the best atmospheres in PMAC history in 2015 & 2016
