I just watched the pilot of The Americans and it's basically the perfect pilot.

It establishes the main characters and the main conflict as well as about 5-6 other layers of conflict (So many layers).

You get a pretty good idea of the characters involved.

*Spoilers:

Phillip killing Timoshev (after Elizabeth didn't while getting revenge) because he hurt Elizabeth leading to the scene where they dispose of the bodies and have actual sex (to In the Air Tonight) is a pretty epic scene. Just completes a mini-arc for their characters and the balance of their US/USSR/Family ties.

Then it ends with Stan searching the trunk and he shakes his head, and then as he's leaving it reveals Phillip sitting their silently with a pistol and silencer.

Lost

You pretty know exactly who each major character is by the end and you got next to no exposition

Dammit I'm gonna start another lost rewatch now aren't I

Absolutely it’s Lost for me.

That show hit the ground running like I had never seen before or since.

A Lost rewatch while Severance is airing seems fitting.

The Americans is fantastic. Breaking Bad is up there amongst the best. Hell, just the cold opening with Walt is in his tighty whities and his pants floating up in the air/wind like a kite.

The Walking Dead had an excellent 1st episode setting the story. It really sucked you in a left an impression on the gravity of the situation.
