Well, it's gonna be a lot harder for me to hate him now.

Was this strictly a donation, or did Berizon also waive fees?

Legendary North Carolina Tar Heels basketball coach Roy Williams and Verizon teamed up to help erase $10 million in consumer debt for western North Carolina families impacted by Hurricane Helene.
Verizon called on Williams to directly contact families still dealing with Helene's devastation to share the news that their debt would be relieved. The random act of kindness model was enabled by Verizon's partnership with ForgiveCo, which also worked with the wireless provider to clear debt for military veterans through its partnership with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In total, Verizon plans to eliminate $10 million in debt for 6,500 western North Carolinians. Williams, who is an Asheville native, says it's an honor to be part of the program.
"These are challenging times, but I've seen the strength and resilience of this community," Williams said. "Verizon's support is a powerful reminder that no one is alone, and together, we'll rise stronger."
Verizon and ForgiveCo say no further action will be required for the debt forgiveness beneficiaries. This action is in addition to Verizon's $400,000 donation to the United Way of North Carolina immediately after the storm.
"To the 6,500 individuals impacted by this initiative and the broader western North Carolina community, we are with you," Leigh Anne Lanier, the president of Verizon's South Atlantic Market, said. "We will always stand by you, not just as a business, but as a partner and a neighbor."

Wow, very nice.
Those people deserved and needed a hand.

Sounds like just a nice gesture from VZW. I thought it was a nice story to bring to the PT. Good corporate citizens are important - and while I know someone probably has had an issue with Verizon - they have typically been a good corporate citizen.

Dammit. But after second thought, he’s still a slime ball cheat, just a generous slime ball cheat.

We get barraged with bad news constantly and it gets pretty old. This is a nice change of pace. Well done, Verizon.

Thats nice of them. But Verizon is a rip off. Anyone not using Consumer Cellular and TMobile Home Internet and WiFi. Is paying $400 too much a month.

I don't even pay half that for two phones. TMoblis sucks arse where I am. I'm sorry you are employed/have investments in TMobil. My daughter has it. I don't know why. She can never hardly connect in a big city in Texas.

Combine that with the $750 they got from
Biden (unless they had a Trump sign in their yard) and that makes a very happy story
