A yes vote would give players a one time transfer without having to sit out a year.

Yes, this is real.

This will be hilarious to see facebook moms trying to drum up NIL interest for their 9th grader who entered the transfer portal

Well I’d say at the very least this could be a better system then letting a team play 5-7 games or a whole season and then going “oopsie, someone is ineligible. All those wins don’t count now”

You fix the rule or ambiguity then, not just completely trash it all lol

How do attendance zones play into the transfer portal ?

If attendance zones still matter all the open enrollment parishes will have a huge advantage

Private Schools in Non-Open Enrollment parishes still have to follow attendance zone rules. Currently any freshman at a private school that does not reside in the private school's attendance zone (which is whatever public school zone that the private school is also in) are not eligible.

For varsity. They can still play freshmen and JV games. How many freshmen are going to be big varsity contributors?

Below 5A, a lot

This is happening because with the court cases against the NCAA and their regulation of transfers, the LHSAA’s hand is forced. Plus you also have a new voucher program coming from the Landry administration

Understood.. that was a reply to a post comparing Private schools with Open Enrollment parishes.

If the "Transfer Portal" is approved , what are the rules ? If attendance zones still matter, the open enrollment parishes could dominate.

Not if attendance zones still matter... Only players they could steal would be Uhigh, Liberty or McKinley

We have NIL and what we currently have in college ball because they made it a racial issue

no way this passes, especially if it was proposed by a private school.

You’d be shocked how many kids threaten to leave. Starters. Kids that score 7-8 touchdowns a year in sub varsity. Parents are the worst and this will make it a joke like NCAA.
