Auburn stood by Bruce Pearl, Kansas and Duke stood by their coaches. Do you think He would of kept Wade knowing all this? It kinda makes Woody look like a pusssy for firing Wade. This is the black stain on Woodys resume.

I’ve heard enough from supposed insiders to become fairly certain that the NCAA pulled Woody aside and threatened to hit him with a football stick if he didn’t cough up Wade. So if he had it to do over again, I’d guess he would have done the same.

Will Wade getting let go was about more than just potential sanctions. I don’t think what he liked how Will represented the school on the court / bench. Remember while Wade was getting no favors from refs based on his behavior on the bench. We shouldn’t gloss over the potential clash in styles

Michigan was literally cheating by stealing plays and they will forfeit no wins.

Just a reminder —Will Wade write a check from his personal account to pay off a witness. If he had not done this , he likely would be coaching at LSU today. Even in today’s screwed up version of the NCAA , a coach can’t payoff a witness to lie or not testify.

Firing Wade was due to being a sacrificial lamb so that the football program wouldn’t get hit with major sanctions from the NCAA coming from the OLOL/LSU Athletics scandal. Couldn’t stick with him like Pearl and Self because football comes first here which if Auburn was in the same situation I think Pearl would have been fired too because football is number one at Auburn as well.

Wade is like 30 years younger than Pearl. He was on a great track for his age. Also Pearl had already been busted for cheating previously so auburn could have made the easy decision to fire him.

If I had to guess, the scenario you just gave is what I would think went down. So, he served up Wade on a silver platter and rightfully so. The football program is the lifeline of all the sports programs, wasn't a hard decision and he'd do it again in a heartbeat. Question to all the people butt hurt about Wade being gone, would you have rathered the football program bite the dust and fall into total irrelevance or Wade get fired? I know which one I'd choose.
