We don't even have to count that 2 games are better than 1, there's so much more.

The games are usually better. For some reason the quality and the competiviness of the game is usually higher.

The intensity of the games is also much greater. Neutral site events are never the same in terms of atmosphere as in front of a home crowd.

The Super Bowl is basically a freak show at this point. The game is almost an afterthought to all the other bullshite. The halftime show, the commercials, the celebrities in the crowd. The entire broadcast is geared towards casual non-fans.

Conference championship Sunday >>>>> Super Bowl Sunday

I don’t even know how to react to the Skins making it this far was too young to remember 91. My first Skins memory was a 3-0 home loss to the Jets.

There was a time when the Redskins were one of the dominant NFL franchises.

From 1980-1991, 12 seasons, Super Bowls were won by:
49ers (4)
Redskins (3)
Raiders (2)
Giants (2)
Bears (1)

Yep Gibbs was a QB whisperer. The NFC was insane in the 80s-early 90s. And arguably the Skins second best team lost to the Raiders in the SB. That team was a juggernaut but apparently a lot of them were out partying the night before.

That 91 team was a machine. Rypien, Monk, Byner, Gary Clark, Rickey Sanders. Started 14-0 I believe. Steamrolled through the playoffs.

Yep that 91 team is their greatest because of the SB win and dominating season, but take a look at what that 83 team accomplished up until the SB. They had two losses by a combined 2 points. They were setting records that season too. They’d be in a top 5 best teams to not win the SB behind the 07 Patriots and maybe one or two others.

Agreed. If they didn’t play the Raiders in the reg season they may have won that SB.

IMO you would get a better SB with no week off after CCG… fans are still hungry for football and teams are on a roll by just getting there. It would be a better game.

They started the RFK stadium tear down last week. Excited to get that eyesore gone, but lots of folks around here are getting super nostalgic about it.

Can't argue with that. Especially with no silly lipsync, no talent buffoon dancing around on the stage at halftime. The SB half show is always a good time to drop a deuce, or get another plate of food and drinks. I love the conference championship games.

The Raiders were too fast for that team. Washington didn't play anyone close who had that kind of speed.

They played them in the regular season. Washington beat them 37-35.

Is there a reason they are playing Dixie?
