I guess if you're going to virtue-signal and take it to the extreme, this is how you do it.
Turn down a Presidential pardon

Turn down a Presidential pardon

BBC LINK
quote:
One of the people who served jail time for taking part in the US Capitol riot four years ago has refused a pardon from President Donald Trump, saying: "We were wrong that day."
Pamela Hemphill, who pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 60 days in prison, told the BBC that there should be no pardons for the riot on 6 January 2021.
"Accepting a pardon would only insult the Capitol police officers, rule of law and, of course, our nation," she said.
"I pleaded guilty because I was guilty, and accepting a pardon also would serve to contribute to their gaslighting and false narrative."
Hemphill, who was nicknamed the "Maga granny" by social media users - in reference to Trump's "make America great again" slogan - said she saw the Trump government as trying to "rewrite history and I don't want to be part of that".
"We were wrong that day, we broke the law - there should be no pardons," she told the BBC World Service's Newsday programme.

Wonder how much she is getting paid

Good for her.
Pretty sure she doesn't have a choice in the matter.

What a weird Hemphill to die on.

I would take it no matter what.

What matter? Accepting the pardon? She certainly has a choice there.
Maybe she is actually acting on principle, but I bet she could make a killing grifting on the left with that take.

An easier position to take when you’ve had your day in court and received a minimum sentence.

Someone wrote a check to this bitch. 100% certainty.

It’s easy to turn down a pardon when you have already served your sentence and are out of jail. Some of these folks have been sitting in jail just because they were there and didn’t even enter the Capitol building.

Somehow I don't think the BBC (MSN) is telling the whole store.
But now interview the rest of those 1500 and see what they have to say.

It was your choice. Fine, don't take it. But you are out of jail after only getting 60 days and probably served like 5. frick off

She has gone full Lefty:
"She sits on a street corner outside the state Capitol grounds, every Wednesday and Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m.
Wearing a T-shirt bearing the phrase “Bleach Blonde Bad Built Butch Body” — a now-notorious tongue-twister uttered by Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) in a May congressional hearing — Pam Hemphill, 71, films herself dancing to songs like “Put A Little Love In Your Heart” while waving a Harris-Walz sign, often posing for selfies with supportive passers-by."

Paid operative.

When you serve 60 days only and get paid, it’s called a job full filled for services rendered.
Different tune if she was put away for years.

Federal judge told one of the federal death row guys Biden gave clemency to that he couldn't refuse it.
She may say she does not accept it, but the legal effects of the pardon will inure to her all the same.

That doesn't explain your original take.

Yeah, this old lady is not, and never was, a Republican. Just a dumb old lady that's looking for attention.
