Looks like Freeman won’t lead them to the Promised Land either. BK is still their best coach since Holtz.

A crap take. How do you know? And when did BK beat three top 10 teams in the postseason and at least looked like they belonged on the field the second half, unlike BK's ND teams.

That’s the only positive takeaway from the night.

Fraud season with a fraud coach … who we were told are much better off without BK

Freeman isn't a fraud coach.

This is just Notre Dames peak

Freeman is a pretty good coach.

His teams play hard for him and don't quit.

Freeman's already outperformed BK at Notre Dame. But I don't expect some LSU fans to have a realistic take.

They would have been insufferable had they won.

Absolutely. Also, it doesn’t hurt that he can win a season opening game unlike the coach in Baton Rouge.

Weakest NC field in a decade and ND still lost by 2 scores to
Will Howard.

My POINT, which you and a few others don't seem to understand, is that Freeman has elevated the program past what BK did.

it’s the exact same. I would argue Kelly is more impressive considering what program he inherited compared to the program Freeman inherited.

Freeman has had several advantages that BK didn’t have during his tenure there. Paying assistants top dollar and being able to go buy a new qb every year are two of the bigger ones.

Those top ranked teams would roll this year's playoff field.

What ND fans are failing to see is when Kelly got to the Championship, he had to be one of the top 2 teams without a playoff, he also made the 4 team playoff. Freeman would not have made a 4 team playoff. Kelly also didn't have the luxury of NIL and the transfer portal.

Why cant ND fans be thankful for the man saving their mediocre program and making it a 10 win program and leaving a well rounded program for Freeman to continue???

No, he literally hasn’t.
