I don't see how this is an indictment on a 12-team playoff. Ohio State ran through the number 1 seed, and they wouldn't have even made the top 4.

Ohio State wouldn't have been in the 4-team playoff. This basically solidified the committee's decision.

Using the result as a justification for a teaming making the playoffs is the worst kind of circular reasoning however, I’m not sure they wouldn’t have made it.
Oregon and UGA obviously would be in Ohio St was the 8 seed in this format but 2 teams ahead of them were Boise and ASU NO WAY do either of them make it
so boils down to 2 of Notre Dame Ohio State Penn St and Texas. ND at 11-1 I think definitely gets in and tOSU beat Penn St plus Indiana that’s 2 top 10 wins, Texas had zero, really good chance they make it anyway but if they didn’t too bad, shouldn’t lose to a shitty Michigan team

Because this isn’t college football. Ohio state had a bad regular season. With an easy schedule. They couldn’t even make their own conference championship.
All they did was get hot in this watered down everyone wins a trophy playoff NFL league. They paid 20 million dollars for their fricking team. Jesus Christ people. This has nothing to do with college football. It’s a terrible product off and on the field.

Wait, are you under the impression that teams in the playoffs played less hard due to there being more teams in the US playoff?

Out of all of the things that have made college football worse, the playoff expansion is pretty far down that list.

12 team playoff made it the worst season of all time without even bringing the pay for pay and transfer portal into it. This shite isn’t college football. This is a watered down shite hole version of the NFL.
