Was there really a huge demand for a new Captain America?

Just saw the preview and it looks horrific. Is there a lot of hype behind this?

Milking the Marvel movies for all they can. It is a business after all.

I don’t remember if he was president when it happened, but yes Thunderbolt Ross is the Red Hulk in the comics.

I’m asked everyone I know well, and none asked for this.

I am in for it, though, I’m not expecting much. It will be set up for Thunderbolts that comes out in May.

I don’t think it’s demand, just fodder to keep the cash grab going in hopes that something might stick somewhere.

Marvel overplayed their hand with the Disney+ content and the rush to produce movies that utilize their now-massive cast. Then Jonathan Majors got cancelled so Kang was scrapped as the next big bad so they’re just stuck in the lurch, basically providing life updates on characters none of us really care about until they got the Doom stuff filmed and released.

Will make money, but probably not much profit if any. Marvel has a dedicated group of fans that will see whatever trash they toss out.

Black Captain will not be the next Black Panther.

Chadwick Boseman is 10x the actor Anthony Mackie is. Mackie lacks the "it" factor.

1. I don’t think plus content was their problem. I think they just started smelling their own shite a bit and falsely believed they could move on from their A listers and get general audiences to care about anyone they trotted out there
2. I think Kang got scrapped because he just wasn’t catching on, comic people seem to love him but a villain whose biggest strength is that he just keeps coming back isn’t really that exciting. His big debut he talks about all the avengers he’s killed…but ends up losing to ants. Just a stupid fricking way to introduce your new big bad

Interested to see how sloppy it is. They’ve reshot this thing 3 times and cut nearly an hour of runtime to try and fix it. Gonna be a better version of Kraven the Hunter.

You know they are gonna crank out a dozen of these comic book movies every single year for the rest of time right?

It won't even matter if a lot of them bomb.

They have nothing else to make besides animated kids movies.

The thing is they have a ton of good material to draw from and make popular movies for a long time but that’s not what they’re doing. This is why the topic is popular and fascinating. If they’d be adapting popular comic stories they’ll likely never have the impact the original movies did but like all popular genre films they’d always be liked and successful.

After 13 rounds of reshoots and cobbling together a movie I have zero hope for it

No. Just like all new Marvel movies. We’re tired.

They've had to reshoot several times to make significant changes to the plot because test audiences hated it. I don't think that is a recipe for success.
