The problem is they’ll make it more difficult in red states after they fled their dem states and will continue their dumb beliefs with them. Texas is an example with way too many Dems and dumb reps that should never be in power.

Looks like Florida was close to getting four more too.

This is overblown. The prevailing logic is that a higher proportion of Conservatives are fleeing California than liberals. That is why the projections of Texas Senate race being close in 2024 were way off.

I'm dumb. What are the apportionments for? Electoral College vote? House Reps?

correct.

i have met probably 10-15 new neighbors that moved to nashville from CA and they are FURIOUS over the politics in their old state.

i've met exactly 1 liberal from CA and our cigar chomping mailman gives him shite every day he's a nice guy and readily admits he had to leave CA because his business (installing hot tubs) was drowning in regs in CA so he had to move here to keep it going.

It sounds right. It seems like one of the reasons people leave is to find lower taxes. That sounds like Republican voters.

This is precisely why they want to abolish the electoral college and count illegal immigrants in the census.

While they cry about muh gerrymandering

Both, it is the number of Congressional seats and electoral votes. Congressional maps will be redrawn, so you cannot assume this means 3 more GOP reps in Florida, but you can assume it means 3 more electoral votes for the GOP candidate in Florida unless something changes drastically.

Bingo. When you couple these population shifts with the fact that Gen Z surprisingly shifted right, the future is bleak for Dems in the Presidential race. In 2015, the group think was that Republicans might never win again....

I keep hearing this but a lot of the red states with the migration are just as red if not redder.

Hell California at its peak liberalism still had more republican voters than almost any state in America. NY also has millions of republican voters. A lot of those folks are the ones leaving.

There is zero chance that is accurate given SC's current and projected rate of growth.

That's plus 10 electoral votes for non battleground states with 3 more for states that went red in 24.

Maybe true, but it gives you a pretty good idea of the trajectory. It would be even better if that +1 in GA got shifted to SC.

Texas is slowly turning blue due to Austin unless that trend is reversed.
