A solid bit of news. Ramos was a solid kicker and will be needed to make a serious run next year…..
LSU will welcome its kicker back in 2024. Damian Ramos announced on his social media that he will return for his final collegiate season at LSU. The Baltimore native has been LSU starting placekicker for three seasons. He’s made 77 percent of his kicks including 23-of-29 in 2024.
He set the LSU record for consecutive extra points made by hitting 119 straight.

Welcome back, young man

Some people were mad at him last season. I dont think it was entirely his fault. Lots of bad snaps and holds played a big part of his misses as well. Need to shore up the snap and holds, get in a dedicated ST coach and watch him flourish.

One was on him for not being in position before the snap and BK lit into him before the half. Other than that, a few bad snaps led to a few other misses. Overall, he’s been a very solid kicker for 3 years. Happy to have him back for this next run.

he's consistent in the range you should be consistent in
I would like to see Burrell take over the longer kicks if he improves in the offseason

It isn't so much his mistakes, but his lack of a big leg. He can barely kick a 50 yarder. Most of our competition has kickers than can make kicks of 55 yards or more. That can be a big deal in close games.

That’s cool, we need a freaking punter though bad!

Absolutely so
My dad(82) comes to my house to watch LSU games with me. I know that we rewinded well more than a handful of made and missed kicks this season with botched snaps and holds.

LSU picked up a starting punter recently in the transfer portal. They’re good there. There’s not a single area of weakness they haven’t addressed. BK is more than likely shooting for a starting OT and probably another safety.

Check out the portal class. We upgraded big time at punter already.

I would like to see us try out another holder. Todd looks unsure with his hands. I think some of Ramos’s longer distance problems relate to his snapper and holder.

Very fair.
We need to win next year and breaking in a kicker would not be ideal. I bet he wins us a game or two next year.

I think most of his misses were due to bad snaps or holds.
He's pretty solid.

Does every player have to do a dang announcement post with special stationary.
How about stop wasting time typing that crap up and go practice kicks deeper than 30 yards.

He's generally reliable....inside of 50. Problem is college kickers are getting better. Just in the SEC, there were 9 teams who kicked at least a 55 yarder. It's certainly an advantage to be able to still 3 points from long range like that.

I don't get the downvotes. Has been an above average kicker.
Bad snaps and holds last yr.

I assume the MTSU punter will hold

Agree! Not to mention that FG that was blocked by Baylor was not low but instead the guy came right up the middle almost unblocked/barely touched. I have been very satisfied with Ramos as the FG/PAT kicker and also Burrell who handles kickoffs.
