Trade back a little bit and get an extra pick and then take Warren. Unless Carter is somehow there then you take him.

I saw a mock with us taking Harold Fannin who is arguably a better TE

He'll trade up and draft someone who would have been there at 9.

Warren is going to have inches and ~30 lbs on Fannin and will run faster, I believe. And Warren is a beast in the run game. Built different

Good player, but not nearly same type athlete. What round, 2nd or 3rd?

If he could be 75% of the player Bower was this season it would be a great pick.

I’ve seen a few sites where Fannin is being ranked ahead of Warren. Not agreeing or disagreeing, just saying.

We need a TE, but I’d rather wait until a later round. Our needs at DT, DE, WR, and OG are much more pressing.

So we’d pick a player that’s 75% of Bowers higher than where he went in the draft?

Yea that’s smart

Unless we dropping down and picking up a 2nd, I’d pass. Way bigger needs than te in the first. Woukd really like Mason Taylor in the 3rd if he drops that far.

If you redrafted the 2024 draft, there’s a very good chance bowers would be a top 5 pick

And that was an absolutely stacked draft. This draft looks like it could be an exceptionally weak one.

75% of bowers almost looks like a top 3 TE in the NFL. If we can lock in that type of talent, I wouldn’t complain.

Bowers is probably the best rookie in the NFL. He plays TE for a bad team. Otherwise he’d be ROY. If there was a redraft, he’d probably be the 3rd or 4th pick.

At 9 the Saints aren't getting one of the top QBs (if they even want one), and they would likely be looking at choosing from a group of the 2nd or 3rd best DE/Edge or OT. Warren would be the clear #1 TE. The Saints could use guys at a lot of positions. TE being one of them.

I wouldn't hate the pick.

Fannin is listed at the same size as Juwan Johnson was coming out as a WR - 6’4” 230. They’ll begin to question the competition. Not that he can’t be a player

Warren is going to go 6’6” 260, long arms, good athlete. More of the prototype, Greg Olsen is the comp I think. Even Bowers is well below average in size for a TE
