I saw Moscona said mention it this morning. I'm skeptical of the FCS to SEC jump being successfully made for a top-end caliber starting OT.
With what we have on campus already + the incoming class, I don't think we should take anyone that isn't a definite plug-and-play starter. Do we think he would be?

He's from NE Ohio and has interest from Ohio St and Michigan. Not saying we can't land him, but Scone basically threw his name out there without really saying the staff was making a hard push.

For all you PPF watchers out there, he logged 904 snaps at MSU, primarliy as a left tackle and graded 76.7 in 2024.

GTFO with this dumb shite. Players do this all the time. SEC football is not an untouchable, unattainable feat for players from other leagues. Lots of FCS players and FBS Group of 5 players are currently in the NFL and have been in the past.
Did you like Zy Alexander this past year? How about Jabril Cox in 2020? How about Jared Verse and Braden Fiske at Florida State? Mike Iupati who played OG for the 49ers? Jerry Rice, the greatest WR ever? Terrell Owens? Randy Moss? James Harrison? Trevor Penning? Dominic Rodgers-Cromartie? Ed Oliver? Jahri Evans? Jermon Bushrod? Kurt Warner? Steve McNair? Jared Allen? Countless others?

Montana State and North Dakota State are a class above most of the FCS. It's no different than pulling a transfer from USF or BYU in my opinion. A highly rated lineman from Big Sky is a take for me.

Nobody said it's not possible. We could just as easily make a list of guys that didn't pan out. The point is that, if we take someone, it should be a sure thing. Which is the question I asked (which you didn't answer).
Let's at least be honest and say that he wouldn't have faced the type of edge rushers that he would face at South Carolina, Ole Miss, etc. at Montana State. I hope we can at least agree on that!

I'm on your side of this argument and most of those are correct but Ed Oliver played his entire time at Houston

You are right, though, that there have been some really solid linemen that have made the jump from FCS to NFL. Another good example would be Terron Armstead who went straight from UAPB to the Saints.

Yeah, he’s from a small high school in Ohio. He played small competition in HS and college. Not sure he would be SEC caliber

LSU's history of lower division OL is bad. Shanahan was bad. Tre'Mond Shorts, an extremely decorated FCS OL from East Tennessee State, who was coming in for his 6th year of college football, couldn't crack the starting rotation last year.

Randy Moss first attended Florida State and Notre dame, Ed Oliver was a 5 star recruit who went to Houston, most of the other guys you mentioned retired before some of these recruits could read.
For every Zy Alexander there's 50 Darren Evans'
For every Dominique Rodgers Chromartie there's 100 Pig Cage's.
I get that there are FCS guys who can compete, but let's not act like there's not a massive talent gap. The absolute best of the best (sometimes) maintain their success at the next level. Most don't.
