Saw this thread on tRant and was wondering who you think would be a home run hire for Pelicans next Head Coach if they let go of Willie.

Will Wade?

UConn coach maybe but I have no clue. At least realistic options

Chris Quinn is another name to look at. Wouldn’t consider him a back up the truck for hire however. Born in New Orleans for those who care about that

"Guess again, Myers did not build Warriors. Curry, Klay & Green were drafted by previous management. And he nearly traded all three in two separate grades. Bucks opted to take Monta Ellis v Curry, and Exec Jerry West halted Klay & Green for Kevin Love."

Does he get credited for firing Marc Jackson after a 51 win season and hiring Kerr? That's pretty significant too.

There is no one like that.

Biggest names without HC experience right now are Chris Quinn, Micah Nori, Sam Cassell, David Adelman, Johnny Bryant, and Alex Jensen.

Retreads would be Brett Brown, Terry Stotts, and James Borrego.

I would prefer Cassell, Quinn, or Brown in that order,.

Because of injuries and Zion being a semi-bust, I think they give Griff some slack. Griff will get to trade whoever he wants, hopefuilly get a top pick, and then promote Borrego to make another run. It's probably the cheapest way to operate, so that is most likely.

We still have too much talent to bottom out. The trio of DJM-Herb-Trey can be a very good complimentary roster around a star.

Yeah i'm sure he won executive of the year twice b/c Jerry West had to tell him what to do.

and you know what that tells me if that's true, that he listens to people who are wiser than him. Griff always thinks he's the smartest guy in the room.

I would try to find someone that has had more success in a small market environment. We are never going to have unlimited spending. We need to be more strategic..
