When the mayor bonded out, his people were cheering like he was found not guilty. 
When I was at Southeastern back in the 80's, people from there use to describe it as God's country, I use to tell them, Hammond must seem like Eutopia to you.

Certain people deserve for whom they vote. They love their incompetent criminals and see them as heroes yet beg to the state/federal government to provide basic services normally provided by local government.

I remember going to Bogalusa to watch my buddy in a baseball tournament in the early 90s, and it was a shithole then (and was noticeable to even a 12 year old me at the time).

I know a few people who are from Bogalusa, originally. They’ve all moved out of that shithole. They also can’t get their older parents to move out of their original homes. A lot of times, even after it gets burglarized. Pretty sad.

There was an old joke about the girl that during a heated make out session told he boyfriend to “kiss me where it stinks” and he drove her to Bogalusa.

I got my in-laws out of Bogalusa 2 years ago. Wife is from there.

One of only 2 times I ever ventured to the great city of Bogalusa was riding in a blackhawk. Got to see, and smell, it from a high vantage point and was not impressed.

Used to have a decent buffet in Bush right next to it called the House of Seafood but isn't anywhere near what it used to be. Ate there this past Saturday after talking it up. 100% agree the paper mill and Bogolusa as a whole is a drug invested dump!
