I miss those days, love him or hate him the man was building his brand at LSU and basketball was fun to watch.

Agree. Shame he got recorded saying what he said. Put LSU in tough position, and not just for basketball. Wish him nothing but the best.

Just think what could have happened if the media didn’t have it out for the guy starting midway through the 2019 season?
Bill Self had just as incriminating texts as the phone transcripts were but you barely heard about them.

Vitale constantly ran him down at every opportunity on TV, where was Will Smith when we needed him. The caliber of recruits that Wade had recruited to LSU had that Dawg in them. Freaking miss that.

LSU isn’t a basketball blue bloods, getting a young up and coming coach and riding that wave was the right move. Getting in the tournament and having a shot every year what you want. Winning a title would be awesome but you gotta get in to have a chance.

Really does suck what has transpired with LSU basketball. I’m a casual college basketball fan and really got into it in the Wade years. Went to my first LSU basketball game when he was coach, have not been back since he was fired.
He was the perfect coach for LSU. I don’t know what all options Woodward had in front of him at the time, but getting rid of Wade was a massive frick up.

I would rather have Wade, “cheat”, and have a chance to enjoy good basketball and consistently make the tournament, than kneecap the basketball program, hire a by the book guy, and suck forever.

Exactly. It's amazing the folks who refuse to admit this. You can like the product Wade put on the court and wish we still had it and still admit he put LSU in a position where they had little choice but to let him go and hire a squeaky-clean coach. This won't last much longer, either McMahon miraculously turns this around or he will be out. The only question is will he have one more season to try to turn it around if something does not happen this season(and nothing suggests it will)?

Last time I checked neither Bruce Pearl nor Nate Oats had been to a Final Four before their respective stops and LSU sure as hell has a better basketball history than Auburn or Alabama
And Bruce Pearl is a confirmed cheater —- so maybe he will win the whole thing one day. Oats….i wouldn’t doubt it…Dale was a cheater, T-Pear, again, a cheater….. Brady (via Colis Temple) cheated, as well. CMM hasn’t cheated (as far as we know)…. So I doubt he gets us to the F4 anytime soon.
LSU $$$ concentrates on Football & Baseball & WBB ——- bc they’ve won championships.
