Burt Reynolds - Deliverance.

I don't think anyone ever confused Burt with DeNiro or Olivier, but I can't imagine anyone nailing that role better than Burt.

He was also good in The Longest Yard.

But the rest of his career was pretty much littered with nonsense like Smokey & The Bandit and Cannonball Run

Michael Cera doesn't seem very versatile but he was great in Scott Pilgrim and Superbad and had a hilarious cameo as Marlon Brando's Johnny from The Wild One in Twin Peaks the Return.

Burt Reynolds? Seriously?

He said in an interview before he passed that he regrets not pushing himself as an actor with better roles.

And I guess you haven't seen Boogie Nights. He hated the movie but nailed the role.
