Who the hell is Vandy, to be laying points on the road against us.
"Ok Schedule Non-Con"
Cal was without their coach that game.
Lost to Drake
Beat: Seton Hall, Nevada in Charleston Tournament, TCU neutral court, win at Va Tech.
New Coach: Byington from James Madison
I say we still Ride.

They are blasting people…. But their schedule is weaker than ours

I dunno, man. Dores beat the socks off Cal and VA Tech, two solid wins over ACC powers. And they blasted UNO most recently-- that's a team the Tigers struggled with mightily.
Vanderbilt was terrible last year with Stackhouse. This year under Byington they're a transformed team. Now I think they can beat LSU. I just hope my Tigers give their all and leave everything on the court today. Let's GEAUX!

Yes, SEC is going to be brutal this year, this is one we can, and should win at home, got to get it.

If we can't win this one, it portends a lot of grief the rest of the season.

Should be a good game. Both teams are in the bottom half of the SEC and both are currently legit bubble teams. Lsu needs to take care of business at home today.

I think maybe a bit too early to say "must win" - having said that you'd have to counter this one with at least one we aren't supposed to win. I'm a bit surprised we're dogs here.

I was quite surprised until I looked over Vandy's resume. They're playing really good basketball and bear no resemblance to the mess Stackhouse made out of that team. They were 9-20 last year and LSU beat them twice!
I hope LSU wins today, but won't feel too bad if they don't so long as they play good basketball.

Vandy rates as a better offensive team than defensive, but I think the numbers are a little deceptive. Vandy forces a good bit of turnovers. Which is our weakness. Neither of their big men are particularly big. They are decent rebounders but not really a whole lot of shot blocking.
Edwards is their offense. He can penetrate and score off the glass really well, hopefully our big men can disrupt that enough to limit his scoring inside. Their team as a whole shoots about the same as us from 3.
All in all they are definately beatable, they will probably struggle in conference due to a talent disparity, but they are not a bad team. We can’t afford to go brain dead for a 5 minute stretch like we did against SMU. Limit turnovers, alter shots around the rim, no easy buckets inside the arc, stay in control on the offensive side, they have active hands.

I think you are missing the point. It’s not a “must win” in the sense a loss means LSU can’t recover from it from a W/L standpoint. But it feels like a game LSU needs to get to build confidence for both the team and a mostly apathetic fanbase.
From a numbers/data standpoint LSU is in the bottom 1/4th of the SEC. As is Vandy. So losing to them, AT HOME, is not going to give anyone much confidence when the remaining schedule is loaded almost entirely with better opponents.
Football is now over. This is the time the casual LSU fan will pay a little more attention to the basketball team. Early wins would go a long way to build support. Lose, and many will simply say “oh well, I’ll pay attention to something else.”

Vanderbilt seems to have a pulse so I’ll chalk this one up as another McLoss.
Just five more years after this season in order to implement the system. Be patient!

Vandy hasn’t been outside the bottom half the league in probably almost a decade and we are underdogs at home? Lmao piss poor

Let me be clear, this is a MUST win....early schedule is brutal with lots of road games.

Must win is way overused. But its a crucial game to hold serve
