Do you think Marijuana will ever be legal at the Federal level?

I'm not asking if you agree with such things happening. Only wondering if you think it will and on what timeline.
Lots of dominoes have been falling.

I think they have found a way to tax it on a state and eventually federal level that we will see it legal in the near future.
It was never about it being harmful (like the government cares about that I.e. cigarettes, alcohol, food additives) they just hadn’t figured out a way to properly tax it.

Nope.
Not enough people go bankrupt due to medical issues.
They make more money arresting people for dealing, driving under influence,

It should be federally decriminalized and left to the states.

Given that it's Schedule I and doesn't actually fit with the criteria of Schedule I (high potential for abuse, no medically accepted use, and lack of safety of use of the drug, even under medical supervision), it's only a matter of time before federal law changes. And with it being legal in so many states, it seems likely that change will be legalization, even if some restrictions are placed on it

How are you going to tax something that you could legally be allowed to grow in your own home?

I don’t care if you smoke it, grow it, sell it or whatever. I just know that stuff stinks. Walking by certain people in the grocery store and you catch a whiff of it. Worse than BO

Weed smoke smell doesn't linger for very long, imo. It airs out rather quickly
ETA: Tobacco rolled weed smell does linger (Blunts)... Someone smoking paper joints ain't smelling like it for nearly as long.

This losers dream will never come true.

I think it will in 10-15 years. I'm almost 50 and it feels like it's something about a half generation behind.
I agree with the poster who said it should be left to the states. The FDA has far too much power and needs to get a new generation in who recognize the difference between Billy blazing up at the Phish concert and Philonius robbing people to fuel his crack addiction.
Another way to look at it... Medicinal MJ is far less dangerous than narcotic prescription medication. For this reason it should be rescheduled and covered by insurance/HSA eligible. I've been on Vico since they screwed up my back surgery in 2005. You're damn right I'd jump at the chance to swap it out for something that isn't so hard on my organs.

Can’t imagine much longer on the the fed level. The small added funds can be a selling point as the wave of fiscal responsibility needs every penny it can muster.. congress loves a new stream of tax revenue
