Has there been any info on whether Trey’Dez Green is going to also play basketball?

I haven’t seen anything yet.

I’m pretty sure he was the #1 basketball prospect in Louisiana in his class out of HS.

Team looks pretty good without him, not sure if he would contribute this late in season

He told Shea he was playing IIRC from their pod after the game.

This guy is just scratching the surface he is the best athlete I have seen in Louisiana sense Calvin James of Broussard- Lafayette at the tight end position .

Green is a beast once he understands blocking schemes nothing can or will stop him.

He is scary good. If he wants to play TE in the pros he has to understand that he must block monsters. He has the softest hands when catching the ball and I forgot about his basketball background. Just needs to get stronger to play on the line

McMahon said he will be coming to the team as soon as the bowl game was over, but there will be a transition period with football conditioning being different than basketball (and his having to learn the playbook, etc.).

So yes, he's coming, but probably not as soon as you'd like. This was discussed on the coach's show this Monday.

McMahon talked about him in his presser for Vandy. Starts at about the ten-minute mark and there are a few questions I think he hits on thing until about the 13:30 minute mark or so.

He will play but it will be a little while so probably at least a week but it sounds like maybe more.

If I had to guess with zero reason to pick any game he will possibly see the court I think it will be one of these. It would not surprise me if MM tries to let him make his debut in the PMAC so one of the two bolder games.

Jan-11 - Q2 game - vs Ole Miss
Jan-14 - Q1 game - @ Arkansas
Jan-18 - Q1 game - @ Texas A&M
Jan-25 - Q1 game - @ Alabama
Jan-29 - Q1 game - vs Auburn

Why are people so interested in this? He’s a complete non factor if he decides to join the team. His future is in the nfl

Because its always cool seeing a multisport athlete above the high school level. Seems simple enough

Because we don't know if he is good enough to get minutes in bball yet. You don't either. 2 sport athletes are interesting.

Everyone likely agrees his pro future is the NFL.

Dumb statement

He’s 6’7 with more mass than anyone else on the team

A good coach can scheme him in and if anything he may be a damn solid rim defender

He has a long wingspan and crazy hops.

He will contribute and it’s cool to see knowing how badass he’s going to be on the gridiron

He hasn’t played in awhile
He was ineligible to play basketball as a sr in high school because of transfer rules
Gonna have to earn any minutes in practice and maybe late he can get in a game
Better chance to possibly see time next season with some development this year in practice
By end of next football season he might be wise to choose football if he plays like he did in bowl game entire season

Sounds like they plan to talk to him next week and start practice after that. So probably 3 weeks away.

Why do you always have to take a contrarian stance in every thread? You life must be extra difficult through every reason of your own.

You think it is a contrarian take to say he wont be a factor on the basketball team?

if he follows through on his interest. like the coach said they haven't even started meeting with him. he may still decide nah too much effort. but if he does start practicing and they can see in practice that he can have an impact... who knows...

i suppose bk is against it. but maybe Tres'Dez insisted on the opportunity. if he can't get playing time though, why would he stick it out, unless the team really needs bodies.
