Why did Ohio State get to play an FCS caliber opponent like Oregon in quarter final?

Penn St got absolutely gifted a 2 game bye

Pedos must have dirt on committee

So was the big 10 schedule. Oregon only played a one game schedule in the regular season. OSU played all the top teams

It’ll be funny when their fans try to explain away the next game when they inevitably lose decidedly

If you are going to be the champion you have to beat the competition. They can cry all year about this but they did not show up to this game. Can’t hope for cupcakes all the way to the title.

penn st draws smu & boise st while the #1 team is matched up against tennessee/ohio st. it seems like they wanted the possible "big 10/pac 10" matchup in the rose bowl, therefore screwing oregon

Dan Lanning was too much of a mouth breather to concede the Big 10 Championship Game, which he should have tried to do.

Oregon was 3-0 against playoff teams going into the playoffs. And also smashed Michigan for whatever that's worth.

The CFP should seed based on the old BCS formula and play it from there.

Current system is fine, just don't have conference champions equal an automatic bye, and reseed the bracket after every round.

Meh

They got obliterated. If it was a close game, maybe a different story.

It’s like you’re not even aware that Oregon already beat both OSU and PSU during the season. Your high and mighty tough talk totally disregards the concept of earning a reward for being the team that took care of business all season.

Oregon got fricked because of the rules that bound the committee to give Boise and ASU 3 & 4 seeds. Nothing the committee could do besides putting tOSU above Notre dame and Penn State.

They played it safe because tOSU loss to Michigan was bad by playoff contender standards.

But I have a hard time feeling sympathy for Oregon. They were awful for the first 28 min. No unanimous #1 should ever be embarrassed like that. Was like when Florida’s buzz saw got tOSU in 06 or 07.

Plus Oregon wasn't allowed to hit and tackle while sitting at home losing their mojo with a punitive Bye, while Ohio State came in rockin' and rollin' after a big Playoff win.

Bad take when people bring that up. If Oregon cruised people would say the rest is why

If Penn State is winning playoff games, you have too many teams in your playoff.
