But, I’m trying to temper my expectations for his growth next year. Plenty of people have compared him to Burrow and Daniels in regards to their 2nd year jump.
I think there are important differences: I don’t know how much Nuss can improve on his weaknesses.
Daniels: reluctance/confidence to let it rip was his first year weakness. It was glaring. It was based in fear from trying to carry an Az state team and turning the ball over. Off-season- he focused on throwing mechanics, andconfidence in his long ball.
Burrow: was a late transfer in year 1. Has said that he didn’t know his receivers as well as he would like.
Off-season: full offseason and famous summer of 10,000 catches got him and his receivers into a force. Also, Brady and Ensminger fully adopted a spread offense that Burrow was more familiar with from high school.

Nuss: biggest weakness is running from the QB position, Favre-like questionable decisions that become turnovers. When he’s behind, he plays different bc he’s trying to be a hero.
Off-season: idk how to improve these weaknesses. I don’t think he can become as good a runner as Joe ( of course not Jayden). The other weaknesses can only improve with experience I think. I hope I’m wrong.

We will have to disagree. Running is not his weakness. How decision making on if to run or not could be considered a weakness. That can absolutely be worked on in an offseason.

One easy fix: when you see green grass unless it’s 3rd and long or 2 seconds in the half or 3rd and goal, take it!

That’s an easy fix that will extend a couple drives a game.

Nuss will be a 1st round pick after year IMO. Maybe I’m wishful thinking, but I really think so.

The crazy part is i don't think Nuss is slow as sheit like Payton Manning or anything. He's not JD5 but he can definitely get 1st downs and he's no a small dude. He just needs to take what is given to him. If he could work on that he definitely could make a defense work harder.

If he “makes a leap”, he will own every single season passing record in college football. His 4100 yards puts him 2nd in a single season all time passing.

Anyone who didn't like Nuss is a gay homosexual. He clearly made an improvement starting with the Vandy game.

As opposed to a straight homosexual?

I’m offended!

I love Nuss and think he had the best first year of any first-year starting QB in LSU history.

Don’t lump dumbasses in with the gays.

he didn’t start 2023 that way. He was challenged by Kelly to the point he pushed him to the limits by the Mississippi St game. He took off after that game but before then he wasn’t throwing into coverage.

What is different for Nuss is he will have deep threats next year that he didnt have last year. That will help the offense all over. Will help the short and intermediate passing game because safeties will have to cover over the top. Should also help get a few defenders out of the box on the run game

Yep, his biggest issue is being careless with the ball, particularly when he feels pressure to score. But he does not always do it so that makes me think he could also work on that. It sort of goes hand in hand with better decision-making.

This is an excellent counter point. I hope you’re right. I downplayed how much losing Hilton’s deep threat ability meant this year. Today, when Hilton made those big plays in the first half, I started wondering “what if”.

Not sure why you don’t think either of these are super fixable. They are

Nuss overthrew open WRs deep all year. Not having Hilton was not an issue

What qualifiers are you putting on that stat, because by itself, 4100 is not top 100.
