Why wouldn’t it be. Both schools probably have a very large fan base in the Houston area but are far enough away where they don’t get to attend games regularly.

LSU announced a sell out like a week or two ago

I find a full sellout hard to believe. I think it's more likely that LSU sold out their allotment of tickets.

I’m going to guess there will be easily 50K in attendance, possibly closer to 60K (NRG capacity is 72K).
LSU vs K-State 3 years ago drew 52K

They didn’t sell the upper deck endzone tickets. The corners up there will be empty too. But it’ll be 75% packed which is pretty good imo

Based on the secondary market, tickets seem to not be dipping, so should be a good crowd.

Tons of aftermarket tickets available cheap. Which means the attendance will be low.

Not sure if it’s a sell out. But there are a lot of corporate sponsors that buy tickets for all events at NRG with the exception of the rodeo.

I’m guessing we will see about 75% capacity.

In the upper levels, yes. The lower level tickets have not dipped at all which means there will be a good crowd.

They haven't even opened the end zone upper decks, or at least there are no tickets offered there on re-sell sites. As of yesterday, there were still seats in all open sections on the Texas Bowl website. It will be a decent bowl crowd for 2024 but it wont be close to full.

We got club level on the LSU sideline for under $130 ea (incl fees taxes) off SeatGeek. Looking forward to some LSU football!

Nearly half of the upper deck's tickets never even went on sale. You can confirm that by looking at this link: LINK

For the upper level tickets that did go on sale, it looks like less than half of those even sold. Not only will this NOT be a sellout, I'd be shocked if the stadium was even half full. I'd predict around a 32,000 attendance.

You are correct about closed end zone sections in upper deck, but NRG has most of its seating in 100-300 level. It has some of the best sight lines in all of sports imo, just a great place to watch football. It will definitely be more than half full.

They did this for Outback Bowl last year. Stadium looks full for TV, promoters can say "sold out" or nearly sold out, and box office can still maximize dollars.

We could have bought box office tickets that were crappy, or aftermatket that were decent. Was goung to about $110/ticket either way...

Some bowl games have looked depressingly empty on TV.
