Thankfully, all exiting portal players were trash and all incoming are studs.

Signed,

tRant

Seriously tho, probably upgraded some positions but time will tell. Portal is a crap shoot if we're being honest. Hopefully, CBK catches lightning in a bottle.

Whether he likes it or not (he did it purposefully), Brian Kelly has created a monster of expectations. Winning a National Championship is extremely difficult for even the best teams.
Let's hope we can get there, because his prognostication will certainly be an unwinding if we don't even sniff the game.

For the record, I believe we are contenders.

Geaux Tigers.

I like how they focused on the transfer portal this offseason. They were aggressive on players who have proven production from big schools. Not many backups this go around

Please elaborate. Why are you “all in” when YOU of all people are just wanting to use this as a potential “I was there and supported the team (secretly thinking - yeah I’m gonna show my jealous arse and use this as a “look at where we are. I told you so! See!”
The problem is, there is ZERO evidence from Kelly’s coaching career where he burned down programs like your FIRED multiple times for doing so, daddy-o.

You are NEVER allowed to comment on LSU football because of what you did to many on here the entire time it burned and people were so upset.

There’s a permanent spot in the penalty box for you.

What changed? Could it possibly be they had the money to do so? How about the illiterates not knowing NIL money was split at LSU? Or the fact that Kelly donated 1MM to nutrition center and this time was able to donate 1MM back to TAF with a challenge to be more aggressive? They aren’t done.

Make no mistake, they are nowhere near Texas or TAMU or UGA or Michigan or tOSU in wealthy Alum who will donate sports cars for advertising transactions. That is not part of their respective “NIL funds”.

Why you so mad?

Shouldn't matter what any poster thinks, Big Game Brian just has to prove it on the field.

I think the rant is pretty honest.

Rickie Collins wasn’t the missing piece to a championship.

Neither was Swann.

But I think most people aren’t happy Pimpton, Womack and Daniels left.

With this transfer class, I think we should have a legit 3 year run at playoffs/title.

We will need to find a QB next year.

We will need to follow this recruiting class with another like it.

In a perfect world we wouldn't need as big a transfer class. Quality recruiting can limit that need.

It’s sustainable if we can cut our roster holes in half.

Should not have voted to let rich alumni of A&M and Texas into SEC but when we did there was no NIL just Challengers and other money under the table stuff

Need to get the 3* and 4* boys who want to play in Death Valley

With the portal, you can see guys' college tapes. They've played at this level, not what they did in high school, which may or may not translate to college.

Seriously, that isn't too off from reality. As a top tier SEC program, we will generally be in the running for anyone in the country at a position of need, while having the advantage of taking better players to fill position of departing players who left due to playing time or were requested to leave. It is not unlike recruiting and the 80/20 rule applies.

This isn't across the board, and there will be cases where you wish we had kept certain players (Landon Jackson and CJ Daniels possibly) while missing out on a position of need in the portal (Walter Nolan or any safety worth a shite last year).

If the portal is not a net gain for us year to year, we are in serious trouble. Will those players fit the locker room and play hard? Well, that's a different conversation that concerns the portal as a whole.

I'm a little worried about the young safeties leaving. It's one thing if they took bad advice to bail, but if that's not why, then we either didn't develop them or evaluated poorly.
