Linda Lavin passes away at age 87.

Such a long and successful career. "Alice" was one of THE single greatest sitcoms of all-time. I think Polly Holliday "Flo" might be one of the very few surviving main cast members.

Linda will be missed.

You can tell the drugs in the 1970s were top quality. Someone actually pitched adapting for TV a Martin Scorsese drama as a sitcom…and it got greenlit.

Diane Ladd (who played Flo in the movie) was Belle for a short run and the girl who played Jolene ( Flo's permanent replacement) are still alive.

Hell, Tommy died young, 55.

Vic Tayback as Mel was great.

It was a good show.

I seem to recall the actor that played Tommy had died.

She was very good as Alice. Was in several shows recently too. Long career.

Was just watching "No Good Deed" last night and my wife said, "Alice looks good for her age". She certainly didn't look 87.

She had a short but memorable stint on Barney Miller as Det. Janice Wentworth.

There's a new girl in town and she's looking good.
There's a fresh freckled face, in the neighborhood.

Polly Holliday says "Well, kiss my grits". Yeah, she's the only one still on this side of the ground from that show and is 87 also.

Holliday was also Mrs. Deagle in the OG Gremlins.

Just watch her this past week in, No Good Deed and was surprised at how good she looked for her age.

Yeah, I'm not sure if autocorrect or brain fog got me there

It's all good. I had a buddy who used to host a team trivia show at a local bar and once time I convinced our whole team that Gwyneth Paltrow's mom was Blair Underwood, not Blythe Danner.

He still refuses to let me live that down.

(For those unfamiliar:)

Blythe Danner:

Blair Underwood

Linda Lavin dies and all I see on social media is 'Kiss my grits!"

That wasn't her line, but at least folks remember.

*Is the actor who played her son still alive? Not main character, but still...

Another of the 70's 'single mom' shows, like One Day at a Time.

*Phillip Mckeon died in 2019. He was 55. His sister is Nancy McKeon.

Vic Tayback (Mel) died in 1990 at age 60.
Beth Howland (Vera) died in 2015 at 74.

Polly Holliday is still with us and is 87.

I believe you're confusing her with the talented Don Lemon.

If you're referencing DL in the movie being alive, so is Jody Foster and Harvey Keitel.
