I was 100% on board with this until the last five years or so. It just feels like it has run its course, imo.

If I’m Perkins, I’m asking for my #4 back. #7 can’t be something that gives him fond memories. I know feelings among fans on this are all over the place. So, once again, this is just my opinion.

Want to keep #18 for the team leadership guy, that’s fine with me. I really don’t think there needs to be more than one #18, though.

I hate the number “tradition” almost as much as all the alternate uniforms. Can’t believe people are so gullible to believe that Mauck randomly selected some incoming freshman to give his jersey to. And both he and Hester obviously go along with it just for kicks. 7 at least had a little substance but that all vanished when O gave it to fricking Giles.

The number tradition has kinda felt forced since Fournette left.

If the players like it, I'd continue it. I don't think they care what we think.

This I’m good with 18 but number seven has just gotten stupid as shite. It means nothing. It’s a dumb tradition and cursed at that.

Both were always “forced traditions”. If it means something to the players, keep it. But it’s pretty meaningless for me from a fan perspective.

DJ Chark
Grant Delpit
Ja’Marr Chase
Derek Stingley Jr.
Kayshon Boutte

How was it “forced” with these guys? Are you saying that none of these guys deserved it?

Oh great, the travel ball moms are back on TD complaining about uniforms again.

Forced probably wasn’t the right word but let’s see:

quote:

DJ Chark

Grant Delpit

Ja’Marr Chase

Derek Stingley Jr.

Kayshon Boutte

Chark- decent

Delpit- didn’t really turn it on til late in the year due to injury

Chase- opted out

Stingley- injured like 3 games into the season and never suited up again

Boutte- definition of hot/cold while apparently betting on games

Its definitely lost its luster. Peterson giving it to Mathieu was cool but that’s about it.

The #7 is cursed! Please pick a new number Perk! 4 different numbers in four years would be legendary!

Yall better not talk bad about Perkins

This has nothing to do with Perkins personally or as a player, it’s just about the number thing.

Forced was definitely the wrong word. Hindsight is 20/20. Calling it “forced” to give it to a guy like Stingley because he got hurt that season is dumb.

Every one of those guys minus Chark had their worst season as a Tiger in that number

Right...If the players approve, that's all that matters. They are the ones putting in the work.

Two things this board will forever whine/b*tch about... #7/#18 and non traditional uniform combos.
