Seinfeld should do a dramatic acting role

Watching all good things and ray romano and Tim Leary do a great job…a lot of comedians have done roles with depth that few “serious” actors could and it got me thinking about what comedians haven’t tried dramatic roles. would be really interesting to see Seinfeld try something. I think he could do well,
Any other comedians that would be as or more interesting as Seinfeld?

Jerry Seinfeld is an unfunny loser who happens to be worth a billion dollars because Larry David is a genius. His standup seriously sucks and he comes across as a total arse in any unscripted interview/interaction.
And his passion project was Bee Movie

Larry David is a much larger a-hole than Jerry Seinfeld.

Absolutely, he's also a million times funnier

I wouldn't say he's unfunny, but it does seem like his talent was far better suited for the late 80's/early 90's.

He's not really a good actor.
Maybe a rom-com where he can smirk like Jimmy Fallon.

Comedians often make the best dramatic actors when given the right role and the right director. Look at Jackie Gleason and what he did in the Hustler and Nothing in Common. Jim Carrey had a few heartbreaking turns in some serious projects.

Incorrect. Being an a-hole just to be an a-hole does not mean you're funnier.

Difference is Seinfeld has never acted. He was always just being himself.

He was never funny . He is trash as well as that show

Any episode of Curb is funnier than whatever your favorite episode of Seinfeld is

Seinfeld is not a great actor. That’s why he surrounded himself with talented actors on Seinfeld.

Ah, a kindred spirit. I too really don't understand the whole "Jerry Seinfeld is the greatest" accolades he has received over the years.
I seriously tried to watch some of his stand-up and found it the most un-funny crap I've seen from what is suppose to be a comic. His whiny, nasally delivery make him hard to even listen to.
If it wasn't for the cast around him on his show, he would have flopped terribly.

Jerry is a good comedic actor, not the most funny comedian.

Acting like he and the show aren't funny is right up there with "DDL is overrated" among the greatest hot takes on this board

Probably because a lot of stand up comedy come from dark places. They're on stage every night acting happy, but saying real shite. Seinfeld's comedy never came from a dark place.

I dunno. Robin Williams played a great serious role in Dead Poets Society.
Jamie Foxx did a nice job with Ray and Collateral.
Not comedy but Gene Kelly played a good serious role in To Inherit the Wind.
