Falcons have a good GM. Drafting Penix was genius, and everybody thought they were stupid

Too bad we couldn't keep him and fire Loomis.

Piece of shite that Loomis is.

He committed $90 million to a 36 year old coming off an Achilles injury while intending to draft a QB in the top 10 picks. If that was the plan they could've went bargain basement with Sam Darnold or Justin Fields until Pennix was ready, both have been better QB's.

People didn't think the Pennix pick was dumb on it's on but dumb because of the Cousins acquisition.

Sarcasm? Are we really celebrating Penix off of a 0TD 1INT game against the NYG as a genius pick?

They signed Cousins to give them someone experienced to steer the ship while Penix developed. Maybe he is ahead of schedule, either way both moves were good if they believed Penix was their future.

By ahead of schedule do you mean Kirk Cousins can’t stop throwing picks?

Falcons got several gift wrapped wins this season.

Not exactly the best division. If they make the playoffs they will get knocked out soon and they'll have a later draft pick. In addition to Cousins contract

I don't see them getting past the Vikings, Philadelphia, Detroit, possibly Green Bay , let alone get to the Superbowl Bowl to face Kansas City or Baltimore

They wouldn't have been able to get Pennix without signing a starting caliber QB. Or else, it would've been too obvious in the draft that Atlanta needed a QB. Pennix then wouldn't have fallen to them. Someone would've traded up in front of them. So, in a way, it was covert.

Drafting Pennix shortly after investing heavily in Cousins was stupid. Now they better hope Pennix pans out.

Yes Loomis is a clown. But Falcons fans hate their GM too and want him gone.

Dude is in his mid 20’s. He’s about as developed as he’s gonna be. They should have signed a vet for one year on the cheap, then hand it off to Penix.
Could have saved the owner 95 million. Now their cap is fricked. Sounds like he wasn’t sure on either one, so he doubled down hoping one works out to save his arse.

GM is an idiot. No surprise he trained under Loomis.

They beat the Giants, who were terrible, and there was no film on Penix. Now they have film. Let’s see what he does next week.
