Small sample size, college etc. all the disclaimers. But is anyone else concerned here?

If the Pels did nothing but let BI walk, and win the first pick in the draft. An amazing turn of events. Replacing BI with Flagg is likely quite the step back at least early on. And the team shooting with Zion and Missi is atrocious.

Dylan Harper alternatively is 52% and 36.4%.

This isn’t just a Pels issue. I think teams really need to consider the roster construction issues similar to what we have with Zion. Harper is a 6’6 PG/SG that can do it all. Easy to fit in any lineup. Flagg is a super sized SF, great player, but not a pure shooter and I think might make for a tough roster construction. I don’t think forcing him into an NBA PF like position is a great strategy either.

I've never been convinced he's some savior. The media has to identify a "generational talent" in each draft, and Flagg was this year's pick.

Flagg can fit in any lineup too. His shooting hasn’t been there yet but he’s playing elite D and can create with the ball in his hands. He's also more guard than forward

Flagg is 9 months younger than Harper. The things Flagg is doing at 17 haven’t been done in the NCAA very often.

I mean strictly because of the shooting. Flagg is a good basketball player, no doubt. But a non shooting non big is problematic as we’ve seen. A shooting center is considered a unicorn for a reason. So now you have two non shooter in the lineup and everyone else has to be a shooter. Zion brings other issues like lack of height and defensive effort, but your room for error becomes very small.

with Harper playing so well it gives a case for who may go #1 but cooper is also 17 years old and skipped his senior year of high school. Willing to give him more time to adjust. I think his offense will improve. He was never this offensive generational talent in high school. Was mostly hyped for this elite defense and two way ability. I think he’ll be fine.

I don’t think any rookie is moving the needle for this team if they’re still looking to win and only let bi go.

While Flagg naught be younger, when we’ve drafted raw offensive players under Griff and Willie, none of them have developed much, aside from Herb getting decent from three.

We’ve struggled developing young talent, so unless there’s organizational overhaul, going for the more complete player is probably smarter. That means we’ll probably draft a raw prospect.

I get it. It’s hard to bet against him improving his shot. He’s got nice form and can get it off against anyone

His first 6 games he was at 46% and 29% from 3P. The last 5 he’s slumped to 37% and 17% from 3P. I know you acknowledged it but were talking 11 games into a 17 yr old freshman’s season

I said in another thread, let’s wait for the calendar to flip as we head into March

Harper's nice but he is no Flagg.

And flagg moves and dribbles completely differently than bi.

His basketball iq and passing are already sick at 17

This is a guard and wing league. You don't draft and build around a big man unless is Wemby.

I don’t know that I agree with that, but who said anything like that?

If we end up with #1 pick, give me either of the Rutgers kids.
Preferably Harper.

Waaay too early to even guess at #1 pick...IF...come draft night, a few teams truly believe that Flagg is the real deal...he would have TREMENDOUS "trade value"...for a very obvious reason...other than his playing ability.

Ant shot sub 30% from 3 at UGA and his fg% was less that Cooper's currently is. Cooper will be just fine and we should take him without hesitation if we have the #1 pick.

Edwards was a super explosive athlete with elite tools. Edwards is still a relatively inefficient scorer who can get streaky. The thing thay made Edwards who he is.... is his mentality and his belief that he's the best player on the floor and he plays like it.

Flagg is going to he a super high end all around prospect with All NBA and DPOY upside. His offense will be better in the league with the spacing and his IQ but I don't think he'll ever be a #1 offensive option that you give the ball to at the end of the shot clock and ask him to make something happen. That's just isn't his game or his strengths.

A better AK 47 was always the most accurate comp. After the scrimmage with Team USA people went crazy.

I think people are expecting him to come in and immediately produce like Luka, zion, etc did.

But he's gonna take time.
