Trump should appoint Saban as cfb czar before it is totally destroyed by NIL and portal. One of my greatest joys in life is college football. I think Saban could help fix it.

Nope.

Saban wants the govt involved and Saban is a big reason the game is jacked up right now. He was huge in creating the arms race in facilities, which were just soft bribes for players, and everyone knows he ran an under the table pay for play thing at Bama, then when everyone could do it, he retired. Saban is a big reason things are messed up right now, and Saban has repeatedly been a jackass to his own fan base.

Saban is a Democrat at heart. No thanks.

Seems to be quite a bit of parity in CFB this year.

Are you suggesting everyone else wasn’t running an “under the table pay for play thing?”

Or are Bama fans just richer than everyone else?

TIA.

He was the only NIL player for over a decade, now his school has to share. Sorry, not going back

We need to approach football the way the world handles soccer. Divisons, contracts, etc.

And make no mistake, I am a die hard LSU fan and hate Alabama. Your comments are just ridiculous.

It’s just semi-pro football at this point. Don’t care anymore, and they’ve done everything they can to tinker with it until it doesn’t resemble what made it special for so many people over the years.

No, the government doesn't need to get involved in trying to solve every perceived "problem" in society.

Favoritism. Never would the SEC or NCAA go against the best interests of their darling Alabama. Oh they might feign a minor slap on the wrist to keep up appearances, but NOTHING of consequence.

BTW, OP's premise is a horrible, horrible idea.

I still think Trump needs to get involved. We are at critical mass and all you LSU fans( I am hugh tiger fan) still hate Saban for leaving, get over it. Saban is a master at his profession. He would do a great job.

You can’t pretend like lsu didn’t get exposed for that a few years ago, and I’m an lsu fan.

Do you truly believe that or are you trolling?

I’ve known P5 guys from many schools.

I promise you people have been getting paid for generations in basketball and football.

I don't doubt that but he had plenty of company.

You could tell who was already paying players by who made the completely seamless transition to NIL. A lot of schools had to sort out different collectives formed by fans, etc. The semi-pro teams just carried on as usual because they already had the structure in place.

Yup. Saban is the reason for NIL.

We vacated entire seasons of wins, including Nick Saban’s first year, because our players were found to have sold unused textbooks to other students for extra money.

Eff off.

Ya think so. Tell me how you feel when two SEC teams are in the Finals. Polling is nothing but "the numbers game" to create the most market influence.

Regardless, the SEC will cause them to have to change the rules, yet again, in an attempt to create "parity".

Saban retired because he's old. Had NIL hit it's peak ten years ago, he would've been beating everyone else about the head and face with it, just as he's always beaten everyone with the shite he's bitched about over the years.

When has Saban been a "jackass" to his own fanbase?

JFK Jr, Tulsi Gabbard and Elon Musk are all "Democrats at heart". What's your malfunction?
