Even though Nuss is coming back does anyone else think that if we don't emphasize the run and playaction game next year we are screwed. Nuss isn't Jayden, he can not sit back in shotgun throwing it 50 times a game, especially with the offensive line we will have next year. The game plan and execution of the offense will have to be built to help the O line and Nuss by having alot better run/pass balance or we're looking at another let down next year. Given our running game BKs first three years and what Sloan did I'm not overly optimistic

This may be wishful thinking but I think we run the ball much better next year. Durham with a full year under his belt will only help. This may be a hot take but a new OLine may help our run game but I think we definitely lose a step in pass protection. We’ll be forced to be more balanced.

We won’t see much of a change if the same players are playing. The transfers are gonna have to be key and there’s still time

Get rid of the read option. That unblocked DE Crashed down hard on the RB every time with no threat of Nuss running.

It didn't change all year, I don't expect anything else to change

Hopefully focus more on the run. We struggled with run blocking. That might change next year with a whole new interior.

With brand new tackles, expect the short, quick passing game to be a focal point until our OTs prove they can pass pro well enough for Nuss to stay in the pocket.

We haven't really ran well throughout Brad Davis' entire tenure. Not only that, but run games at his other stops have been bad as well, other than one year at Mizzou where it was average.

Not sure if that's his fault but it sure is a lot of coincidences.

Great point. And yet we ran the play multiple times every game.

I think we probably need to run the ball better for sure

hopefully a full season of a healthy Durham and the 2 freshmen help.

Yes if we can get a 100% healthy Durham it could have a big impact as there were numerous times post injury where he would have broke long TD’s but just didn’t have the same burst with his toe problem. Didn’t keep track of what we did on those drives but I’m sure some resulted in 3 points or no points more than likely

With Sloan, we will not have an identity and Unless we somehow pick up a serviceable center, 2 guards and 2 tackles, next year will be a train wreck. But, Kelly must k ow something because he said we will be in the championship game, didn’t he. What a jackass. Was he trying to convince us or himself. He’s panicking and overcompensating.

It’s going to be the Caden Durham and Harlem Berry pain train.

So you are saying we had a bad running game last year?

On a more serious note we need to adapt a better RB driven run game since Nuss does not tuck it OR get him up to speed on when he should kinda like Jaxon Dart this year. Also we have got to learn to run screens. And we need at least two deep threats on the field.

That might change with a whole new OL Coach that can effectively teach run blocking.

If you can't teach it at this level of competition, then you need to go coach somewhere else. (Hopefully Butter Kreme sees this and makes the appropriate change)

If he does not run to give another dimension to his game he will not be much different. He should become more of a play maker rather than asking for the divine intervention every time he coming out of the huddle.
