Southern Charm new season

First episode last week.
Shep has his issues but has always been my favorite guy on the show. Don’t like how his ‘friends’ abandoned him.
Craig is a big cuck. You know Paige has her own plans which have never included him.
Austen is a sociopath. Good guy on the surface but evil underneath.
Shaping up to be a good season. Rooting for Shep. Feel like this is slowly becoming one of those reality shows where everyone gets sober and it’s boring tho.
FWIW, Leva may be the finest woman I’ve ever seen.

That’s great and all for him, but that doesn’t make for very compelling TV. I still can’t get over him basically crying when Shep and Whitney were busting his balls while they were “camping”. He’s soft, you can tell he never grew up with “real” guy friends.

Episode 2 was pretty underwhelming as both JT and Craig are trying to manufacture drama for the show.

Awful episode. This group seems to be more "filming friends" compared with seasons 1-5.
Thomas and Kathryn made the show due to their drama. Especially seasons 1-3.

Agreed. The last couple seasons there’s been many conversations giving hints that these people only hang out when filming.
That’s usually the sign of the shows ending. Most have gotten sober and in longer term relationships. That’s great, but the whole premise of the show was young single professionals partying and doing scandalous stuff.
Summer House fell on that sword several seasons ago. Shocked they keep bringing it back.

JT is trying too hard, I think Craig just wanted to frick over JT though, I don't think he did it just for "drama". He was tired of JT's shite

Spot on. And that’s great for Craig but look how smug he comes off this season. Almost like a 180 on his personality. That makes great sense for real life, but as you mentioned, less scandalous stuff is boring for the viewer to watch.

Agree with all this. Show has honestly been shite since Thomas and Kathryn phased out.
Shep's BS is just sad now.
Craig has an arrogance about him now that's ridiculous.
Austen has sucked since day 1.

I caught myself watching season 8 - first time I watched the show in years. I finished watching season 8 WFH in like 2 days. It was awful. The dog wedding was so freaking stupid. No one is likeable. No one. Nothing happens on this show ever. Nothing.

I watched.
I'm kind of over Taylor, since she isn't with Shep I don't feel like she's adding anything and can just go ahead and leave along with JT whenever he gets fired later this season. She thinks she's too important.
I still always watch but the show went downhill when Cam and Chelsea left and we could use some crazy T Rav again.
