You could start this thread every season. The behemoth that is the NFL glosses over a lot of things but the product on the field is just not that good.

Will only get worse with the lack of develpment for players in the college game.

Difference is Oline play and development which correlates to QB play and development imo

I watch to see defensive players celebrating a tackle or broken up pass play, offensive players celebrating a first down, interception celebrations are the boss, and of course touchdown celebrations, especially when the ball is punted into the stands.

Who doesn’t want to see these celebrations?

It seems like the quality of football overall is down, and I think it’s honestly due to the QB position.

Look at the group coming out of college this year, they mostly suck. That’s not good for the level of play in college or the NFL.

This thread is about the quality of play in the NFL not the level of popularity.

Shitty head coaches and front offices who are just content with being paid and sharing in that huge arse revenue.

I think it's pretty clear that there are several teams that don't practice all that hard either. I mean it's just sloppy.

Missed tackles and the amount of penalties in some of these games is just crazy.

Agree. Bad product. Good athletes in combine clothes, bad in pads.

Great athletes don't necessarily translate to great football players. It's a game of skill, but a greater game of WILL

Everything is related.

There is far less development happening in the high school and college ranks because coaches in those systems are employing schemes that rely on match-ups rather than beating your man at the LOS. Proper technique is falling to the wayside, as is the ability for the QB to properly read a defense. Many plays in a coach's playbook now involve a QB to read just one defensive player on the field before getting rid of the football.

That kind of shite may work in high school and college, but it can't work in the NFL. Defenses are too fast.
